Here's a brief introduction to my new live online course The Balanced Runner System™ Foundations ATM Teacher Training.

In this online training you'll learn how to teach the foundational sequence of Awareness Through Movement lessons I've developed for runners.

Learning to teach these lessons will give us a structure for investigating how humans organize ourselves to run and how to improve that organization.

The registration deadline is coming right up on Monday, March 16, and the course starts on Wednesday, March 18. It's open to any practitioner qualified to teach ATMs, including ABM and MBS practitioners.

This week, Camino Ultra co-founder and coach David Bone is taking on one of the most iconic and punishing footraces on Earth: the Badwater 135. Known as “the world’s toughest footrace”, Badwater starts at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level, and finishes 135 miles later at the portal of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous US.

Along the way, runners face three mountain passes and nearly 14,600 feet of ascent, all while crossing Death Valley in July, where pavement temperatures can reach over 50°C (122°F). With strict cutoffs, extreme conditions, and self-sufficiency rules, it’s a true test of mental and physical endurance.

David has earned his place on the start line with years of consistent, purposeful training. From Winner of the Tunnel 200 in 2024 , Backyard Ultras, numerous Spartathlon finishes to The Spine,and a 141-mile 24-hour PB — his ultra background is deep and diverse. As a coach and co-founder of Camino Ultra, he’s helped shape a community rooted in kindness, resilience, and love for the sport.

Supporting him out in the desert are his long-time friends and crew legends @stephen_macintosh and @frank1313 @leigh_studioldr who’ll be keeping him fuelled, cool, and focused.

And he’s not alone — @laura_runninggirl is also taking on Badwater again this year, with Camino co-founder @d_strachan on crew duties. Together, they’re showing what this community is made of.

Known as “the world’s toughest footrace”, Badwater starts at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level, and finishes 135 miles later at the portal of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous US.

Along the way, runners face three mountain passes and nearly 14,600 feet of ascent, all while crossing Death Valley in July, where pavement temperatures can reach over 50°C (122°F). With strict cutoffs, extreme conditions, and self-sufficiency rules, it’s a true test of mental and physical endurance.

David has earned his place on the start line with years of consistent, purposeful training. From Winner of the Tunnel 200 in 2024 , Backyard Ultras, numerous Spartathlon finishes to The Spine,and a 141-mile 24-hour PB — his ultra background is deep and diverse.
