𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥: 𝘈 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬 is a site-specific soundwalk on Governors Island that took place in August 2025. Titled in homage to composer Maryanne Amacher’s 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥 (1992), the work treats the island as a resonant nervous system. Beginning at nautical twilight and continuing into the night, distributed loudspeakers and horns turned the island into temporary acoustic zones. Rather than offering a clear linear pathway, the composition provides a loose audible map that orients and disorients the audience. The soundwalk was joined by MIZU, whose improvisation acted as call and response to the site—as both an imitator and a medium for temporary presences.
