If I Should Stumble (Victoria)
This raw feminist dance piece digs into women’s resilience, exhaustion, rage and solidarity as dancers crash, crawl, and rise with fierce grit, aching vulnerability, and relentless power.
Massive love and gratitude to this incredible team!I love you!
@twitchdesigns @dreamwalkerdance @deniseburnside @kemi.craig @that.artsworker.life @anitanittoly
A beautiful blur of art and friendship old and new.
We had so much fun and this incredible cast and crew embodied the work and its intentions of resilience, solidarity, care, and urgency.
We each hold our own sacred stories and people, our scars, battles, tenderness and triumphs as we perform this work, and those of so many women who don’t have the ability to to so to be safe, free, visible.
and we also
conjured a little Tina Turner’s Proud Mary, Audre Lorde’s Uses of the erotic (thank you @annieanniewongwong )
And poet Joy Harjo’s Remember as we danced under the sky amongst the trees with feet grounded into the earth, as well as Bayo Akomolafe -, “The times are urgent; let us slow down.”
Thank you Canada Council for the arts travel grant. #BringingTheArtsToLife

A new work in progress.
The Changeover’s first week of development took place in March 2024 at the Fleck Dance Theater invited by @nbonjour22 and @carolineguespin and Harbourfront Centre and team. 🙏🏽
The work explores the process of dismantling and rebuilding a stage in between the performances of two rock bands, exploring change, transitions, beginnings, and endings and paying attention to moments in between.
A performance, a soundtrack, an installation, a meditation, a changeover.
In collaboration, and with deep thanks to Kate Nankervis, Dave Clark, Briana Brown, Sarah Doucet, Sherri Hay, Alana Mercury Conter, Drew Berry, Neville Quinlan.
Videographer/Editor @drewberry.photography
The IATSE techs we worked with described it as “the most inefficient changeover ever”. :)
Phase 2 to be shared soon.
Thanks you to @ontarioartscouncil. #artsaddvalue
