Two compilations by @tuneforkstudios & @beirutsynthcenter to help raise funds for those displaced by Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
100% of sales will be given to @beit.aam , who are providing basic needs to the displaced in shelters, and other local grassroots initiatives in Beirut and the South.

The albums feature unreleased music by artists from/in Lebanon and around the world who are part of the wider community of Tunefork Studios Beirut Synth Center. They are sold exclusively on Bandcamp, along with LAND 01, the first volume published in January 2025 during the last war and displacement crisis. The 3 volumes are available as a bundle at a discount.

Ruptured is very proud to announce Sawt El Doumouh (The Sound of Tears), the second solo album by Beirut-based artist, singer, and actor Sandy Chamoun @sandy_chamoun, out June 5 on Ruptured @rupturedthelabel.

Many of you will know Sandy through SANAM @sanam.music_, Ghadr, and The Great Departed. Across these projects, as well as her solo work, she has long approached voice as something both musical and social, drawing from folk traditions, satire, theater, and collective performance practices from Lebanon and the Arab world.

Written between 2023 and 2025, Sawt El Doumouh took shape during the recent war in Lebanon. The record brings together Tarab, Sardinian Cantu, sparse electronics, and percussion in a set of songs centered on expression under pressure and on what can still be voiced in difficult conditions.

The album was produced by Sandy Chamoun and Anthony Sahyoun @anthony____sahyoun, who also handled synths and electronics. Percussion throughout the record is by Ali Hout @the_hout_ali, with buzuq by Abed Kobeissy @abed_kobeissy on “Ataba.” It was recorded and mixed by Anthony Sahyoun at Tunefork Studios @tuneforkstudios in Beirut and mastered by Heba Kadry @heba_kadry in New York.

The accompanying one-sheet was written by Daryl Worthington @daryl.worthington, whose care toward this record meant a great deal to us.

We’re also grateful to Radwan Ghazi Moumneh @radwanghazimoumneh for listening closely to the test pressings and for his advice throughout.

🍉 How do we reclaim space for cultural resistance — here and in the homeland?

What do you need that is not reaching you?
What would a mutual aid structure need to look like to be genuinely useful — not one-off solidarity but a structure that keeps feeding the soil?
These are the questions Julia Sabra will be bringing from Beirut into the room in Amsterdam on May 9th.
Julia is a musician, composer and part of @tuneforkstudios — a sound collective founded by @faditabbal that has been shaping Beirut’s experimental and alternative scene since 2006. Through Land 01 and Land 02, two compilations of unreleased tracks, Tunefork has been building redistributive practice through music, raising funds directly for those displaced by Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
On May 9th she brings that practice into the conversation. What it produced. What it could not do alone. What needs to be unearthed. What needs to be seeded towards a post-systemic infrastructure for culture.
