They heavily informed my childhood and adolescent years, and continue to be mainstays in my life. “I’m making a resume of my life. ‘Massa’ is telling people, ‘this is how I feel today’,” she says.

This June, she will headline Liverpool's @africaoye , marking 15 years since her UK debut at the festival. "They will be seeing a free woman, very free," she says of the upcoming performance.

Massa will be released by @noformatrecords on 5 June.
