Another fun segment coming from @nickelodeon for Nick News about Justin’s Frog Project. @pluimer and I shot this back in December 2022 and the style we landed on for it was Terrence Malick meets Nickelodeon. I think the words used were “visually mindblowing” 😅
We did some fun things in this piece, check out slide 2 for our use of the @lensbabyusa for a Frog POV. Attempting to hop like a frog with the MiniLF is not easy by the way.
Had to use the @laowa.cine probe lens too for the detail shots of the frogs. They were pretty incredible when you got up close.
Used the Mini LF with a set of Canon FD primes which has been my go to recently. Creamy soft bokeh and incredible lens flares, not to mention there’s a 14mm in the set!

Had to use the @laowa.cine probe lens too for the detail shots of the frogs. They were pretty incredible when you got up close.
Used the Mini LF with a set of Canon FD primes which has been my go to recently. Creamy soft bokeh and incredible lens flares, not to mention there’s a 14mm in the set!

The last slide shows a few of the 6 @litegear spectrum 2Ls that we rigged overhead for our cyan fill light. We had 3 @aputure.lighting 600x’s at 2900k for a super warm key outside the windows. With a few more litemats on the floor we were able to shoot the 26 shots we had and somehow include our prelight and rig in one day. Included some references we were trying to emulate in the second to last slide, loved the moody classroom they had in euphoria and tried to make it our own.
Thankful for @rarebreedswest and @cfgrentalgroup giving us the deals we needed to make this project happen. Absolutely wouldn’t have happened otherwise!!
