Leading the interior design on this central OR house while at Hacker was one of the highlights of my career. Such wonderful clients who I’m fortunate to continue working with today. @sunsetmag featured the project recently. Check it out! https://sunset.com/home-garden/home-tours/central-oregon-riverfront-home

So excited to be contributing a design to the block party at @designwithinreach, with @madepdx as my fabrication partner! Don’t miss this year as it’s going to be stellar with sooo many talented Portland designers representing. -And for a great cause as they’re all purchased via silent auction with proceeds going to @chappdx. See you there!

2025 asked more than I ever expected- professionally and personally. The kind of year I wouldn’t wish on any small business owner or mom. But somewhere along the way, the dense forest began to thin. A clearing appeared, and light came through. Despite the tough path, FID is deeply grateful to have completed four meaningful projects this year, each shaped by thoughtful clients and generous collaborators:a serene, minimal residence; Anjin, an izakaya in Kansas City; Parrott Creek Child & Family Services new campus (honored with an IIDA Oregon Design Excellence Award); and Kafoury Court, a permanent supportive housing project rooted in warmth, dignity and care. Thank you to the clients, collaborators, and friends who helped get me through 2025. I’m climbing onto the 2026 horse and riding into brighter terrain with some exciting new work, and lots of hope. Onward!@hackerarchitects @anjinkc @parrottcreek @adre.dev @elisandragarcia @ditroen @knotstudio.pdx jonahgamblin @straightedgedesignspdx @happy_haus_studios @laraswimmer

Last week marked the completion of a 2-1/2 year effort with an incredible team for a very special project. @parrottcreek has a new campus with multiple buildings to house teen youth and support their treatment and recovery, setting a precedent for creating architecture and design that embraces the human experience in a beautiful and dignified way. Trauma informed treatment and design is a focus here and spaces that support healing were the priority. For starters, connection to nature through views of the landscape in every direction, an abundance of daylight, direct access to nature and fresh air. There are so many special things about this project - too many for an insta post. The work @ditroen created made it fully come to life in such a profound way. @scarletleanne at @knotstudio.pdx flexed some serious muscle with the furniture package. I so loved working with past teammates at ElDorado: David Suttle, @sophie.circles @aubrey_moore_ @de_canted, Derik Eckhardt, @elisandragarcia, @brocktraffas, and the project wouldn’t have happened at all without @adre.dev. To have the vision, determination, creativity and commitment to pull this off was truly impressive. Thank you @adre.dev and the entire team. I’m grateful to have been a part of it. Congrats to all. ❤️

What a blast choosing some favorite rugs at @christianemillinger showroom! Check them out here along with my comments about each one:https://christianemillinger.com/blogs/news/jennie-fowler-selects-5-rugs.Christiane and I have weathered the highs and lows and everything in between over the past 20+ years of our professional and personal lives, and know the struggles that come with small business ownership. But mostly - we have bonded over the design and craftsmanship of rugs. There have been many visits to that showroom over the years and somehow, every time, I feel better when I leave. It’s like the soul and energy put into the making of all those pieces grounds me and makes me know what’s important…Thank you @christianemillinger and team for asking me to Select 5, letting me geek out and add one for good measure.

Soothing, minimal palette in the works for a new izakaya restaurant in Kansas City, MO called Anjin @anjinkc. -A quiet, cozy interior will be a canvas and set the stage for the main event: culinary arts magic created by @nicholasgoellner, @leslienewsam and @drew_man_group_ at the helm who are already running a very successful restaurant in KC @antlerroomkc. So excited to be collaborating with @eldoradoinc on this sweet little project. More soon!

If you know me, you know I love both floors and shoes so I'm among the "from where I stand" community. We each walk such unique and interesting paths in life, so it's nice to share a snapshot - in literal footsteps! Here's a collection of shots over the span of several years, reflecting design related travel, project site visits and in-progress work. In order of appearance:

1. Venice Biennale 2018 - Germany Pavilion. Amazing exhibit. Called "Unbuilding Walls" and exploring architecture's involvement in division and integration. Better explained and viewed on @archdaily https://www.archdaily.com/895647/unbuilding-walls-the-german-pavilion-at-2018-venice-biennale?ad_medium=gallery
2. Venice Biennale 2018 - Exterior Pavers. What cool shapes and texture - idea for a custom rug or tile perhaps.
3. @Morosoofficial Headquarters/Showroom in Udine, Italy, courtesy a wonderful trip with @mr.studio.designs, formerly Inform Interiors.
4. @kvadrat Semis rug with @bolia Soul Chair.
5. Historic Wilson House in Temple, TX.
6. Epic custom terrazzo for a residential client.
7. Beautiful rug samples from @christianemillinger.
8. Custom rug from @kushrugs for a local commercial office building
9. @paulig1750_northamerica rug through @smg_collective from an old workplace project.
10. Just some terrazzo I love every time I go into Market of Choice
