The Cloudbase Foundation is pleased to announce that Jonathan Hutton @ja.hutton will be taking over as President of the Foundation.

#CBF would like to thank CJ Brockway @cj.sparkydill for her tireless commitment to the organization and leadership over the past several years. CJ will remain a board member and continue to support the Foundation’s activities.

Jonathan has shown commitment to our charitable project and special skill when it comes to both the IT/technical aspects of running a non-profit, as well as attention to management details. We are excited to continue the important work of Cloudbase Foundation with a vision to continue to expand its presence and reach in undeserved communities where freeflight activities take place.

If you have an idea for a project in an area where freeflight touches the lives of host communities, please get in touch! We’ll be working to be present at every major free flight event going forward and look forward to meeting you all.

Cloudbase Foundation is proud to be live in Honduras 🇭🇳 for the next week for the 3rd annual Honduras Paragliding Festival. We are supporting a project to build a roof for a covered multipurpose area at the local school. Already 40% of funds have been raised for the project.

Pilots from 10 countries received a warm welcome and performance from students at the local elementary school.

The @thecloudbasefoundation is pleased to support another project in Honduras.

In conjunction with the upcoming 3rd Annual Honduras Paragliding Festival, this campaign seeks to raise money to support the construction of a covered area at the local school in Coyolito, the village next to the takeoff. This will enable the existing space to be used year round, and ensure longterm educational opportunities for students in the area. They have already raised a significant amount locally, and this amount will be used to complete the build. Please donate today!

El Peñon, Temascaltepec: Supporting technology upgrades at José Mariano Mociño elementary

Awe had the honor to introduce the Director and kid’s school to the pilots community at Monarca comp!

The School
José Mariano Mociño Elementary serves 171 children across 8 classrooms, with seven dedicated teachers, one director, and four educational promoters working tirelessly to provide quality education. Despite their commitment, the school lacks essential technology that would open new learning opportunities for these students.
The Need
In today’s world, access to computers and digital learning tools is no longer a luxury—it’s essential for educational equity. Currently, José Mariano Mociño has no computers or projectors, putting their students at a significant disadvantage compared to schools in more resourced areas.
The Goal
We’re raising $10,000 USD to provide:
7 computers (one for each classroom teacher)
2 projectors for interactive lessons and presentations
This equipment will transform how teachers deliver lessons, enable students to develop digital literacy skills, and create engaging learning experiences that prepare children for the future.

This year, we’re marking the memory of the devastating Jajarkot/Rukum Earthquake by spreading warmth and hope to the affected communities. Since 2015, karmaFlights has been providing winter jackets to children in the Himalayan mountain schools across Gorkha, Kaski, Baglung, Rukum, and Jajarkot. Over the years, we’ve delivered over 22,000 jackets, and now we need your help again!

This November, our mission is to bring 1,000 new jackets to the children in Rukum East—an area still waiting for recovery. With no insulation in their homes, these jackets will keep them warm, healthy, and able to attend school during the harsh winter months.

Over the past 4 years, the Asociación de Parapentismo de Honduras (APH) has worked with the #cloudbasefoundation to provide over 200 uniforms to children (which are required for school attendance) and learning kits (notebooks, pencils, pens, ruler, compass, etc.) in the community surrounding the newly established flying sites of El Panjuil.In addition, each student at Escuela Bendicion de Dios was provided with shoes, a hamdmade belt, and a backpack, and the school received a boost of general school supplies.

Most recently, we’ve focused on connecting this rural school to the world by providing the students technology to maximize their education.When teacher, Irma Maradiaga was presented with the idea of computers for the school, she mobilized the community around the cause.

The @thecloudbasefoundation is honored to have helped @codytutts and his partner, @cherisetuts to raise funds to, in Cherise’s words “help low caste children in the #nepal #himalayas , ultimately stretching into #india to Bir, Billing where many of us have a special connection through paragliding.

Along with helping Nyima (pictured above) and her family to contruct an adequate home, Cody and Cherise are continuing to reach long term goals relative to increasing education opportunities for Dalit children in surrounding, remote villages.

A few weeks ago, Cloudbase board member, @cone2998 visited 3 of the schools in Nepal where @karmaflights and the CBF have active projects: two in Bandipur and one on Sarangkot Ridge.Between money for teacher’s salary, school improvements and a hot lunch program, Matt’s report of success and the sustainable difference these programs are making in the lives of the kids and their families in these areas is fuel to our fire and commitment toward having our pilot communities providing a lasting positive effect on the places we love to visit and fly.
