After years in the making, we are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of our book project, co-authored by Janus Lafontaine Carboni @jllfcb , Martina Diaz, Mariam Issoufou @mariamissoufouk and Neo Maditla. Developed in parallel with the exhibition of the same name the book will be officially launched on 15 April 2026 at 18:00, during the exhibition opening, in the presence of the chair.
The thoughts and reflections result from study and teaching activities aimed at conveying the urgency of understanding the intangible dynamics that continue to shape architectural studies within Eurocentric academic contexts. The authors seek to provide readers with a foundation for positioning themselves according to their perspectives and intentions. Presented in a condensed form, the contents also reflect ongoing discussions with students in the architectural design studio at the Chair of Architectural Heritage and Sustainability of ETH Zurich. Through this brief reading, we hope to encourage broader debates and inspire interest in dismantling imperialist and colonial frameworks in favor of a more critical and just pedagogy.
