We knew one thing making this film: nearly everyone that saw it would want to adopt a more “non-toxic” lifestyle.
But…that’s not always easy or straightforward. Because plastic and chemicals hide literally everywhere, and the marketplace is FULL of greenwashing. Also, many “non toxic” or “all natural” products simply don’t work AS well as their more toxic counterparts.
So, what brands or kinds of products can you trust? What products do you know will actually get the job done?
Our team found it was REALLY hard to answer that question.
But we wanted to anyways.
We wanted to give people a trusted place where they could go to find products that prioritize their health and work well.
So Louie Psihoyos, the co-director of “The Plastic Detox” partnered with @grovecollaborative collaborative to offer the public a one stop shop for clean products. Everything from body lotion to cooking pots to glass baby bottles and diapers.
He personally vetted AND tried out every product to make sure it was a great product. (Okay maybe he didn’t try on the diaper himself but you get the gist) If you see a deodorant in our shop…that means he tried out 30 other “all natural” deodorants, but only a select few worked super well. Additionally, all products in “The Unplastic Shop” get 4.5 or higher reviews online.
Not only are these products incredible, we found that each brand in our shop shared the same goal we did: they wanted to make the world a better place, with products that don’t harm humans, animals, OR our planet.
You will see many of the brands are small, more Mom and Pop. Every founder has an amazing story, one that resonated with our global mission.
We hope this labor of love for the last year resonates as much with our community!

This is not an isolated story. It is the reality of millions of couples around the world.
With #ThePlasticDetox, now streaming on @netflix @netflixfr , directors @psihoyos and Josh Murphy deliver a film that is both scientifically grounded and deeply human, one I strongly encourage everyone to watch.
The documentary explores a disturbing hypothesis, led by epidemiologist @drshannahswan : that the plastics permeating our daily lives may be compromising our ability to reproduce.
To test this, she conducts a radical experiment. For three months, six couples diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” dramatically reduce their exposure to plastic.
Through personal stories and scientific inquiry, the film reveals a troubling reality: food packaging, cosmetics, textile fibers, toys, even books..
Our daily environment is saturated with plastic, posing a very real yet largely invisible risk.
This film does more than inform, it challenges.
It does more than observe, it confronts us with an uncomfortable truth.
Because ultimately, one question emerges: can we truly “detox” from plastic in a world that is saturated with it?
Behind this material, celebrated for its remarkable properties, lie micro-nanoplastics, along with thousands of chemical compounds, phthalates, bisphenols, PFAS, whose impacts on human health are increasingly well documented.
For decades, research has pointed to concerning links between these exposures and a range of serious conditions, from infertility to certain cancers.
This is precisely what Rosalie Mann explores in her book No More Plastic: How Plastic Is Ruining Our Health, where she brings together decades of scientific research to show that plastic is no longer merely an environmental issue, it is a systemic threat to human health, the economy, and the climate.
Reducing plastic is not an ideological stance.
It is a refusal to pass on a toxic legacy to current and future generations.
Deplastifying our society is no longer an option.
It has become a necessity for humanity.

The existential fertility crisis is real, and it's personal . As an Executive Producer on this new Netflix documentary, I'm proud to help shine a light on the shocking science behind plastic's impact on human life. Fortunately, this film offers a message of hope and empowerment through simple changes.
To make it easy to detox your home, we've launched 'The Unplastic Shop' with @grovecollaborative for easy, non-toxic items for every room in your house.
Along these lines, I am very excited about Ties (@allourties), a men's fertility supplement company I'm investing in and helping create, launching April 2026.
Let's prioritize our right to healthy parenthood. Please watch and share this film.

We were literally at the edge of the world.
Filming this episode wasn’t just surreal…
It felt like we were on another planet.
No stars in the sky.
Icebergs the size of buildings.
And landscapes that looked like they were ripped from the pages of Lord of the Rings.
We’re so used to seeing Earth through a screen…
But to witness it like this raw, untouched, and full of life… it changes you.
In this reel from Antarctica, we talk about:
- How the sun barely sets
• What it’s like to wake up to glaciers and orcas outside your window
• And why comfort can make us forget just how wild this place really is
This was one of the most mind-bending experiences of my life.
And it’s just the beginning of what we captured on this journey.
The Conscious Rising is live now.
We filmed this episode on an expedition…
in the middle of Antarctica.
Icebergs. Orcas.
And the kind of conversation that changes the way you see the world.
Louie Psihoyos isn’t just a filmmaker.
He’s an activist.
An infiltrator.
An Oscar-winner who’s risked his life to expose the truth about extinction, food systems, and the toxins flooding our bodies.
We talked about everything:
The golden age of documentary storytelling.
How social media is reshaping activism.
And the terrifying truth that microplastics are already in our brains.
This felt like a message in a bottle…
sent from the edge of the Earth.
The Conscious Rising is officially live.
And this is just the beginning.
Thank you @oceanicpreservationsociety for all the amazing work you do.
