@noisewarfare 🥷🏻🎻🎸

Noise Warfare is a visceral sound and performance collaboration that interrogates the aesthetics of camouflage, conflict, and control through a unique sonic and visual language. The performance is a live negotiation between the corporeal presence of a camouflaged figure and the unseen manipulator of sound.
Donning a full sniper’s ghillie suit, the violinist becomes both visible and obscured, a living sculpture of militarized invisibility. The electric violin, augmented with sniper rifle modifications, merges weapon and instrument into a hybrid prosthesis of precision and violence. The visual language evokes questions of militarization, surveillance, and performance as a form of combat.
The violin’s output is routed through @smell.iott, an experimental noise artist and sonic tactician. Using a custom signal processing chain and live manipulation, Smelliott deconstructs the violin’s raw audio, transfiguring it into an auditory terrain that spans the spectral boundaries of war: drones, industrial grit, low-frequency tension, and fractured melody. The sound veers between oppressive and ethereal, with moments of abstraction that function as psychological dissonance or sonic camouflage.
The work exists in tension between player and processor, violence and music, presence and disappearance. It is both a performance and a strategy: a disruption of expectations, a symphony of unseen forces, and a meditation on the aesthetics of war in the age of mediated violence.

A garment made of signal and frequency.
Audio cables unfold like exposed nerves, tracing memory across a metallic skin.
A structure that doesn’t dress the body, but rewires it, turning presence into transmission.
Built from 4 × 20m XLR cables and 1 × 2m cable.
Duration: 3 hours.
