Music Festival × fundraiser for Palestine
presents the artists:

Lenia has been active in Club Culture since 2013 - as a DJ, event organizer (with the viennese collective "Gassen aus Zucker"), booker, researcher and university lecturer. Collecting experiences and building networks while living in Berlin in the early 2010s she then helped hosting events and building festival Stares aswell as contributing to political discourses in the field.
Lenia´s dj sets are characterized by bouncy beats, a lot of percussive elements, sometimes spicened with hip hop samples or soulful melodies.

Lipp is a father, educator, activist, organizer and devoted music lover. His father and friends founded a jazz festival in the late 1970s and Lipp was practically born into it (even in his mother's womb he already vibed to Ron Carters bass, so the story goes). Growing up surrounded by that energy, for Lipp art is always political. He sees his work as part of the musical legacy that speaks up for social justice.
His sample-driven beats are deeply rooted in jazz, soul, and funk, blending warm analog textures with boom bap grooves.

Together, Lenia and Lipp formed the collective amplifying freequencies that seeks to create space for and vibes to liberation funk.

We – @ya_hurrdd & @amplifying.freequencies in collaboration with @thejazzestate - come together in Vienna on the 7th of May to join the @jazzagainstapartheid Festival!
Rooted in local communities yet connected across the globe, the festival brings together artists, audiences, and activists to fight against division - or in other words - to unite against apartheid.

Jazz was birthed in times of social and political turmoil. There is no other artform other than Jazz, that is able to weld our purpose with our message, no other instrument that could shape our thoughts of fear and desperation into hope and clarity.
We want to use our voices for all to hear what we firmly stand against.

Against the political powers that are out to only sow hatred.
Against the belief that we, as humanity, are divided.
Against the false narratives and lies that try to govern our lives.

We stand together in solidarity with the Palestinian people who are the target of a genocidal assault, facing a decades-long illegal occupation and structural violence.
Palestine teaches us about solidarity, love and steadfastness (sumud (صمود)).
We hope to relay these teachings and bring forth understanding and connectedness.

Stand with us while we stand for Palestine, while we stand for Congo, while we stand for Sudan.
Stand with us while we fill the room with the sounds of the most beautiful kind of Jazz.

Jazz Against Apartheid.

With this event we want to collect donations in support of Palestinian communities. Further details will be shared soon, including transparent information about which specific Palestinian initiatives and organizations the funds will be directed to. Stay tuned for updates and thank you for your support!
Furthermore The Jazz Estate will provide their Merchandise on the day of our event - so buying a shirt or a cap will be a direct donation towards the Palestinian people.
