Mutual Drift is a new live set by Ferro Taylor (@araslevni, @markus.schneidi).
During recording sessions in 2024, we developed improvisations and sound fragments using ney and acoustic guitar. Our focus was on microtonal tunings, feedback structures, and the specific resonances of both instruments as pure sound sources—detached from their traditional musical contexts.
Using transducer speakers, we re-amplified the recordings through the guitar and an old detuned piano, creating layered textures between acoustic physicality and electroacoustic transformation.
This material now forms the basis of our live set. Samples function as a sonic reservoir we respond to in real time with ney, guitar, live sampling, and electronic processing. Through transducers, sounds are fed back into instruments and objects, creating a continuous feedback loop between recorded material and live performance.

Marie Vermont is an artist and musician based in Vienna. Current collaborative projects are the duo IEOGM (w/ the concept horse), the quartet BILLA ENSEMBLE (w/ Michiu, turmeric acid, the concept horse) and others, with recent live shows in the EU, UK, US and JP. Marie Vermont has released recordings on various labels such as Breton cassette, Molt Fluid, eë editions, Beach Buddies Records, Chocolate Monk, Steep Gloss, Philatelie, phncrs, Sound Holes, and has a new LP out soon on Stoned to Death.
