@dropcity_org presents a continuous program of workshops, live fabrication sessions and open studios.

From April 20 to 26, all lab spaces are active daily from 11am to 7pm, with ongoing live working sessions offering continuous access to processes, experimentation and making.

Opening on April 19, from 5pm to 9pm.

All workshops are FREE and accessible upon registration, check link in bio.

AIR LAB

Air as Evidence - act I
with: Andrea Anner & Thibault Brevet @aatb_ch © AATB & Daniel Morgan (Lead Designer, Innovation Apparel Product Design)

Making the invisible visible. Engage directly with airflow systems to master foundational principles and explore air as an invisible, dynamic design element.

Workshop
April 19, 5-7pm

Air as Evidence – act II
with Andrea Anner & Thibault Brevet © AATB & Daniel Morgan (Lead Designer, Nike Innovation Apparel Product Design)

Make heat visible. Use thermochromic paint to reveal hidden thermal flows and work with heat as a design material.

Workshop
April 20, 5-7pm

Air as Evidence – act III
with Karen Antorveza @kaphend (ETH Researcher) & Marya Chan (Director, Nike Sportswear Footwear Color & Materials Design)

Reveal the unseen. Learn airbrushing by working directly with paint, pressure, and airflow as core design tools.

Workshop
April 20, 5-7pm

A shiny little world in my samples.✨💎🤍

Throwing oneself again and again into the river/lake/sea, chasing shapes of water. Trusting the currents...thinking about this quote lately that it feels like is talking to me directly. “Water is the consummate immigrant, trapped in transit, never able to settle” Elif Shakaf.

A precious animation made in collaboration with my genius friend @ramiro_iturrioz.

This was a little attempt to visualise the micro world, where the tiniest architects (bacteria) grow unique and beautiful crystals structures. ⚡️💖

Random selection of travel diary -October 2024-
1. of course a stone texture. I love them.
2. a beautiful bird that didn’t move for 3 hours
3. dramatic island sky (really really impressive)
4. the teletubbies door but also an arch master piece
5. best bath “I♥︎湯”
6. selfiando with wood reflections
7. definitely the grass is greener on the other side
8. everything converged at the same point, no matter all the possibilities
9. random public kitchen facilities
10. us pretending
11. stones pretending
12. typical evening, comics situation
13. Maribel bonita going to the space in Kyoto
14. videogame feeling, and the future in the 80s - Osaka
15. let’s just have more entangled connections-Tokyo
16. convenience store, probably my most visited place and the best invent ever-Tokyo

Kyotango is a parallel world, where rocks emerge from the sea in all kinds of shapes. Some are softer and more colorful, others are full of sharp angles and dark corners. You can go up a bit and see it all different, expansive, with many other rocks emerging along the other beaches. Then go down and get up close to all the beauty of the micro world. Next to it, the magic village, with old wooden houses, tatamis, paper doors, and earthen walls; so simple and harmonious where symmetry is not a quality. Family, childhood, water, light food, and sun, there are not many more questions to ask after all.

“Enter the void” feeling.
Tokyo’s rainy nights, are almost like an endless feeling of high, with their intense colors, smells, sounds and neon lights. Moved with the reflection of a city in its raindrops, and its thousands of little cozy places.

We had too many highballs with Sakura, the happiest bartender. 🤍
