๐ฅ Time for Change - Discover the IETM Oulu Plenary Meeting 2026
๐คธโโ๏ธ We welcome you to join us in Oulu from 15-18 June 2026 to explore change in a city glowing with art, ideas and dialogue as it celebrates its year as European Capital of Culture
Inspired by Oulu 2026 โs theme of Cultural Climate Change, celebrating culture as a force for renewal, weโll reflect on the following themes:
๐ฏ Funding & finance: How do we generate and distribute resources in ways that are fair, creative and future-ready?
๐ฏ Skills & knowledge: What capabilities will help us thrive in a shifting cultural landscape?
๐ฏ Communities: Who do we need beside us and how do we build the relationships that make lasting change possible?
๐กRegistrations are now open for IETM members, and both Finland-based and international disabled freelance practitioners. Registrations for other Finland-based and international non-members (organisations and individuals) will open in early 2026
โฉ Register now via the link in bio
Early bird deadline: 18 May 2026

Cross-border collaboration in the arts is more needed than ever โ yet access to funding for international collaboration continues to shrink.
In its latest policy paper, the Performing Arts Coalition calls for AgoraEU to become a key instrument to sustain and reimagine transnational cultural collaboration in todayโs global context.
The survey highlights urgent challenges across the sector:
โข 78% of respondents find access to cross-border funding difficult or very difficult
โข Limited funding and extremely high competition are the main barriers
โข The sector needs more continuity, trust, long-term support, and space for experimentation
โข Current application and evaluation systems require fundamental rethinking
A balanced and holistic funding approach is urgently needed to support meaningful international partnerships beyond short-term project cycles.
