The past 6 months or so I’ve shot handful of projects with @kevstrength and @kontrolledinsanity, and in the process I’ve been reminded me what a gift smaller shoots with flexible creative can be. Each production has been scrappy, sometimes even just me and one other person, but in the end, they have all been enjoyable and the final product has surpassed our expectations.
For each of these projects we have a plan, but there’s enough room to walk into a space and react. This one-shot piece was something that just kinda happened because it felt like a cool idea during the scout. “He sits here, maybe walks to a mirror around here, then someone comes to the door, we hear the crowd outside the room, he walks to the stage, more crowd…”, super simple. We did a few takes as quickly as we could, and then kept shooting the video we were actually there to make. It was almost an afterthought, but somehow it’s one of my favorite things I’ve been a part of in a while.
