I was lucky enough to get into the Academy Gold Rising Program, part of @theacademy ’s early talent development and diversity arm.

By the end of 2025, I was a working producer, collaborating with wonderful creatives at @wearewhimsy, making films with the incredibly talented @owendubeck, and even heading to Brazil for 2 months to produce a narrative feature in my home state. What a full circle and fulfilling moment in my life!

And now, a new phase of my journey starts in 2026 with my first full-time position, learning from the experience and brilliance of @klecool who I’m so lucky to call my mentor and boss.

TO WRITE LOVE - So excited to announce that my new film, To Write Love, will release on May 31st!

Back in the fall, I got a message from an organization with a strange name asking if I’d be open to working on a documentary for their 20 year anniversary.

As I started to ask friends and family about To Write Love on Her Arms, it became clear that everyone two years older than me and above had not only heard about @TWLOHA, but remembered where they were when they first heard about it. People were in tears remembering what the movement meant to them. Others had tattoos and spoke of it as a global mental health movement, driven by MySpace and the punk rock scene.

It was at this moment, I realized there was a story to tell here that was larger than any one person or organization. It would also have the potential to make a large social impact to ensure people receive the resources and care they need. Thank you to @jamietworkowski , @bearcatrenee and so many others for sharing your stories.

Can’t wait for you all to see it, it’ll be on Youtube on May 31st and is already touring in theaters, film festivals, and living rooms all around the country!
