Connection is where care begins 💙

Through community engagement, we’re out in our neighborhoods, working alongside partners and meeting people where they are—helping connect them to care and resources that fit their lives.

Our mobile outreach in 2025 looked like:
• 475+ health screenings
• 80+ gaps in care closed
• 10,550 people reached

Showing up matters—and we’re committed to it every day.

You’re not alone. 💙

According to @NAMI, more than 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year, and more than 1 in 7 youth ages 6-17 have a mental health disorder. Many people also wait more than a decade before getting the care they need.

#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth is a reminder that support matters—this month and every month.

Our members have 24/7 access to programs for anxiety, depression, drug or alcohol dependencies and other mental health needs, plus tools for mental health and stress support through CareFirst WellBeing℠.

Take the first step when you’re ready. We’re here, with care.

Prince George’s County now has more access to primary care. 💙

We recently joined Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy, Dr. Esan Simon of @closeknithealth, Sherise Holden of SheRises and community leaders in Seat Pleasant to celebrate expanded access to care with CloseKnit.

Through a mix of in-person and virtual visits, CloseKnit is helping make healthcare more accessible—with same- and next-day appointments and support that looks at the whole person.

Care should be close. Care should be easier. And this is one step forward.

We were proud to host @urbanalliance students at our Washington, D.C. headquarters for Building Career Pathways—a day centered on learning, connection and possibility.
Students participated in mock interviews with CareFirst #DifferenceMakers, joined a panel discussion on career paths and took time to connect with leaders across our organization. The conversations were honest, thoughtful and driven by the students’ own questions about what comes next.

Thank you to Urban Alliance, our panelists—Sarah Lawson (@whitmanwalker), Mikaela Ferrill (@jpmorgan) and Nathan Martin (@inovahealth)—and to the students who brought energy, curiosity and great conversation to the day.

We were proud to host the @dcchamber 2026 Health Policy Forum at our D.C. headquarters, bringing together leaders from healthcare, government, business and the community.

The discussion focused on health equity, access to care and the policy decisions that shape community health across the District—and how collaboration helps move this work forward. Thank you to our speakers and to the DC Chamber for continuing to create space for meaningful dialogue around a healthy, thriving D.C.
