The Journey Begins!
Congratulations to the MPAC Advocacy & Leadership Peer Navigator Program Cohort III fellows at Enoch Pratt Free Library!
This amazing initiative focuses on a trauma-informed care approach enhancing Peer Recovery Specialists within the behavioral health workforce in nontraditional settings.
The Peer Navigator Program is essential in peer recovery trainings toward the Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification, CPRS.
Peer Navigators receive paid intership connecting individuals to a holistic range of support services, including treatment for substance, mental, and behavioral health resources, overdose response, narcan training, harm reduction, legal, reentry, 988 emotional wellness, wellness centers, crisis, grief support children’s, caregivers, and family services.
Beyond these immediate services, the program actively focuses on social determinants of health—like physical health, health screenings, food access, housing navigation, technology, employment, and life skills education—internally within Enoch Pratt Free Library and externally by collaborating with various local, state, and national community-based organizations. This opportunity and collective partnership is brought to you by the Maryland Peer Advisory Council, MPAC Healing City Baltimore, and Enoch Pratt Free Library sponsored by a grant from Carefirst.
Together, we can make a difference!
