Vanaf morgen maakt mijn nieuwe documentaire een tour van drie weken langs 14 bioscopen (and growing). Een onbekend stukje geschiedenis over een groep van 116 vrouwen die zich verzet hebben in tijden van oorlog en de dood op bijzondere wijze ontsprongen. Een verhaal dat juist nu vertelt moet worden 🎥🪖🥾

Na een lange pauze heeft dit project mij volledig terug getrokken in wat ik het liefste doe, films maken. Ik kan er niet trotser op zijn. ✊🏼

Een gevonden audio-interview onthult het vergeten verhaal van 116 vrouwen uit het verzet die in april 1945 een psychologisch slopende mars vanuit Kamp Westerbork lopen, waarvan de echo generaties later nog doorklinkt.

I’m excited to share the teaser for our short film Kofi.

While searching for work to send money home to his sister, young Sudanese refugee Kofi meets Julian, a reclusive and withdrawn jazz musician. When Kofi reveals himself to be a gifted trumpet player, Julian decides to help him book a performance, and an unexpected friendship emerges that transcends language and culture.

Whether we are locals, an expat, or a refugee, we all need connection to feel like we belong. Making this film reminded me how much those connections shape our lives.

After moving back to the Netherlands six years ago, film became that connection for me — a way to meet new people, discover new perspectives, and tell new stories.

To everyone who collaborated on this film: thank you, I could not have done it without you.

Between wind and tide, a family craft continues without many words. The deeper meaning of work isn’t in what you do alone but in what is shared between generations.

A quiet family story of the Cornellisse and Nelis, craft passed on, the Carhartt Active Jac a witness rather than a statement. In partnership with Carhartt we conceived and produced the European campaign, delivering all assets across formats and platforms.

We handled film and photography end to end, delivering a documentary style hero film in three languages, platform specific social assets, separately shot bumpers, and campaign photography.

Presenting MOVE.

"Dance is a beautiful way to express an abstract concept but I feel that many times the full meaning is lost in translation, making dance films inaccessible to most viewers. What words can’t express dance can but to fully understand the story we need context and that in these films is provided by the characters telling us their story in their own words. The dance itself is then an abstract interpretation of a moment in their narrative. This way we combine dance and documentary into a moving film.

MOVE is a series of short films that explores today's relevant themes, blending the lines between documentary and dance films. In episode 1 we are introduced to Kofi, a refugee who seeks purpose in his new country while he waits for his asylum to be processed.

The next film is in the making. As of next week we will be starting a crowdfunding campaign with @voordekunst and we will doing a pitch next monday 23 September at Boiling x as part of the @nederlandsfilmfestival
