Mamma mia… we made a little confusion 😅
No, Belotti is not opening in New York.
Yes, it was an April Fools joke!!!!
And yes… we did not expect this many messages 😂
Between excitement, confusion, and a few “please tell me this is true” emails — you all made our day ❤️
We stay in OAKLAND!!!!!. We make pasta. We behave (more or less).
But now we know… if we ever go to New York, you’re already waiting for us 🇺🇸🍝
Grazie for playing along (and for forgiving us 🙈)

We’ve been a little quiet lately… for a good reason.
After many requests, late-night conversations, and a lot of thought, we’re excited to share that Belotti will be opening a new location in New York City later this year.
Same soul, same pasta, a new home.
More details soon ❤️

Ciao a tutti,
Ten years ago, on February 11, 2016, we unlocked this door with shaking hands.
The day before opening, our main fridges died.
A $5k invoice for the pasta cooker was waiting to be paid.
Our bank account had a few hundred dollars left.
I didn’t have a home yet.
For months after signing the lease, I slept in the office next to the water heater.
I did washed myself in the dishwasher sink multiple times :-)
Joyce was in San Diego finishing her residency.
We were scared.
We were exhausted.
But we had a dream.
So we opened the door anyway.
We didn’t know what would happen.
We only knew we would work as hard as we could.
Ten years later, we are still here.
We’ve lived through storms — COVID, political chaos, heat waves, blackouts, uncertainty.
There were nights of doubt and mornings of fear.
But every time we opened the doors… you walked in.
You filled these tables.
You celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, first dates.
Some of you came once. Some of you never stopped coming.
You trusted us with your most important moments.
To our customers — thank you for your patience when we weren’t perfect. Thank you for waiting for a table. Thank you for believing in a small family restaurant.
To every employee, past and present — you built this place with us. You carried plates, rolled pasta, washed dishes, greeted guests, solved problems, stayed late, came early. You each placed a brick in what Belotti has become.
Because of all of you, we are still turning this key.
One decade later, we are still making pasta by hand every day.
Still small.
Still family-run.
Still cooking as if we were feeding our own children — because in many ways, we are.
America gave us the courage to dream.
Oakland gave us a home.
You gave us a reason to keep going.
Ten years.
Ten times thank you.
Ten times GRAZIE.
If we are lucky, we will keep turning that key for many more mornings.
