The goal of this commercial was to create an essence of hydrating, thirst-quenching flavor for the 6-product lineup, through set design and poppy, vibrant visuals.

In the journey of being a creative, there are chapters that have “prove it” moments. Moments where you have an outlandish idea, and your mind fills with doubt about your ability to execute it… but you do it anyways. You lean on the hours you’ve invested into learning and perfecting your craft.

This commercial concept from the director (Connor Bates) was to feature a classic Ford muscle car facing a sandstorm in the backroads of Texas. Symbolic of American muscle cars preserving their value and character over their many years.

It would prove to be a doozy of a vision with the complexities of filming on narrow, unpredictable dirt roads, along with the fact that the sandstorm elements would have to be generated with CGI in post.

NOTE: no AI was used in this commercial. Every shot of the car is proprietary and original (not stock footage).

We put our all into this project. Weeks of pre production, a fast paced 1-day shoot, and weeks of laborious editing.

Bear in mind, this is a Ford spec ad (no formal endorsement or involvement from Ford), so the team’s effort was based on pure passion to creative something awesome. And I’m proud to say I think we did just that.

G1M Backyard Ultra.

The most insane thing about this post, is that at the time of posting, there are still 4 RUNNERS battling it out on this course, well over 200 miles in.

This is footage from mile 0-112. As the masses dwindled with each and every lap… everything leading to where the race roster stands right now.

As a filmmaker, I’ve never witnessed anything like this environment. The attitude of the athletes, the charisma of the crew and staff… it’s truly, utterly magical and something that can’t be put into words.

Every runner has their own why. Every runner but one will DNF.

These are the kinds of human experiences the world needs. And I’m so damn stoked I got to capture a bit of it.

Real question is… who’s gonna take it home?

Another campaign in the books with @vitamasques featuring @ninaghoulina

It’s amazing to be at a point where I’m able to have directed not one, not two, but THREE full campaigns with the same brand. That experience is so unique and special to me. Each campaign comes with a better understanding of how we work together, what everyone’s preferences are, and ultimately results in better finished pieces.

The team @stoktstudios flew out to Nashville for this 1 day shoot, and we walked away with this hero film + a deck of social content for the campaign…. Not to mention weeks of pre-production, lol.

Our concept did a full 180 the morning of the shoot, since Nashville got hit with a crazy ice freeze the night before…. And we had planned to shoot outside. Nonetheless, everyone on set worked together on the fly, and we still created something awesome. 💥
