Let's keep design human, raw, and real. Big thanks to @rodnyaquino and @isola.design for featuring my work during Isola Design Festival at Milan Design Week
Some press actually takes the time to read our artist and maker PR dossiers and I truly appreciate that. Itโs honest, refreshing, and reminds me why I do what I do.

Thank you so much to the entire Rhino team, and a special thanks to all my teachers from the ControlMad Master. I'm especially grateful to Diego and Andrรฉs for being there to support me throughout the challenging process of learning a completely new language. Without @lowpoly.studio this project wouldnโt have been possible. Thanks ๐ for this opportunity!

An afternoon of working directly with material alongside Ana Bridgewater.
On the evening before the workshop โ Tuesday, June 9 at 7:30 PM โ Ana will host a free public Designer Talk exploring biomaterials, sustainable making practices, and the relationship between natural structures, light, and sensory experience within her work.
The following dayโs workshop continues that conversation through material and form. Using a warm biomaterial mixture made from tapioca pearls, sesame seeds, cellulose, and other natural ingredients, participants will explore handcoiling techniques inspired by coral growth.
Building coil by coil, the workshop focuses on organic structures shaped through touch, pressure, and movement. After firing, the pieces become softly translucent, holding and passing warm light through their surfaces.
No prior experience is required. English interpretation will be provided throughout the workshop.

This is a quick post to drive some traffic to my friend @abalonuk IG. She is a super talented ceramist (these are some of her works) but she is also a very generous person.
She is currently developing an interesting tiny piece that will provide support to the reef in the bottom of the Okinawan sea.
In the past couple of weeks she hosted a charity sale of some of her works to fundraise to support the local efforts too.
Do follow her to find out more about her work and environmental endeavours .

Weight in Translationโ closes today.
A beautiful group exhibition reflecting on how materials carry memory, atmosphere and emotional presence through space. Grateful to share my work alongside such thoughtful artists and curators at Britannia Row, the former Pink Floyd studios in London.
My porcelain sculpture Totem Trio explored weight through lightness, porous surfaces inspired by coral structures, creating quiet atmospheres through shadow, texture and lightness.
Thank you to everyone who visited, connected and shared conversations over these past days.
Curated by Rodrigo Chaveiro & Edward Raneri.

What role does your work take within this broken system?
Because systems often fail not due to lack of rules, but due to lack of meaning. They regulate surfaces (like tobacco) but struggle with deeper, more complex harms (like environmental degradation) because those require cultural, emotional, and perceptual shifts, not just policy.
Thatโs where artโand certain forms of designโbecome critical.
Not as decoration, and not even as solution in a direct sense, but as:
a way of making invisible processes visible
a way of restoring sensitivity where numbness has set in
a way of reintroducing responsibility without accusation
Art cannot legislate.
Design cannot fully repair ecosystems.
But both can reshape how people perceive, value, and choose.

But both can reshape how people perceive, value, and choose.

Ana Bridgewaterโs most recent installation at Clerkenwell Design Week marked a significant evolution in her practice, bringing together her long practice with porcelain and her exploration of light. At the centre of this presentation was Kubica, a modular lighting system capable of generating a wide range of volumes. Designed to adapt to different architectural interiors, the piece reflects both structural precision and biophilic design.
Looking ahead, Bridgewater is preparing a new light installation within the historic cells of Clerkenwell Prison, a site that is exceptionally opened to the public only during the festival. Situated within the crypt, the project will respond directly to the spatial and atmospheric conditions of the underground architecture.
This upcoming work continues her artistic exploration of how sculpture and light can transform perception and emotion within a space. It also reinforces her belief that design should remain accessible and meaningful beyond elite contexts. Her installations reflect a personal commitment not only to artistic research, but also to broader environmental and social concerns.

Rupp & Form Gallery kindly shared these photos from Collect โ the International Art Fair for Contemporary Craft and Design, where some of my pieces were exhibited and found new homes.
Just four weeks after this moment, I had a serious accident that left me with both arms broken and in need of surgery. It was devastating โ I truly couldnโt see how I would be able to complete my work in time. And yetโฆ I did. We did.
Since then, it has been a journey of recovery. Iโm planning a second surgery this summer to ensure everything returns fully to normal. While Iโve regained much of my movement, Iโve also been supported by the wonderful Ruby โ quite literally becoming my extra pair of arms โ and together weโre now looking ahead to creating new pieces from the studio in West London.
Life really is an adventure.
Thank you, Varuna, for your patience and kindness throughout this time, and for placing my humble work alongside such inspiring and talented creators from around the world. It was a pleasure to meet some of you โ and to feel connected to others in spirit:
Bridget Harvey, Carla Wright, Christopher Kelly, Ekta Bagri, Erum Aamir, Henrietta MacPhee, Jed Green, Katerina Knight, Marlou Breuls, Tania Vรกsquez, Vic Wright, and Woo Jin Joo.
