I needed a few days to decompress after such a mammoth couple of months working on this project! Bringing MAGNITUDES to life at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday night was a dream. Thank you to each member of the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra who open heartedly took on the challenge with warmth and enthusiasm. Eternal gratitude to the @artscentremelbourne and the whole @mess_ltd team for thinking big and making MESS at the Bowl happen. It was a privilege to be part of this project and part of a line up filled with so many inspiring artists making amazing work. Special mention must go to Paul Lim and team MESS for literally moving a mountain to make it all happen.

There were many supremely talented people involved in the production but maximum love and respect must go to @casericey who made everyone sound incredible on the night and @carlazimbler who created stunning visuals that literally flawed us all.
We are lucky to have events like this happen here in 2021. Love and strength to our friends in other parts of the world who are doing it tough right now. 'Pink Boy' is a collaboration between @black_cab_official, and @_matwatson_'s electronica project Other Places. Glacial synths stretch out beneath a looping, evolving arp that never resolves. Staccato analog drum machine hits cut through the haze, while computer-generated vocals drift in and out like a half-remembered transmission...

‘Pink Boy’ is part of a series of works and soundscapes entitled 'Unplayed', an elegy for abandoned machines and human redundancy in general.

Huge honour to have my work Magnitudes featured on Jarvis’ return to @bbc6music for Someday Service earlier this week.

Magnitudes was composed in 2021 for the first realisation of the @mess_ltd Synthesiser Orchestra. It was a unique opportunity to create a work that featured and celebrated the famous MESS Studio Collection.

I sent it…24 synthesisers & 16 vintage rhythm machines conducted by me with a 16 person ensemble. Tonnes of analogue electronics - modular & keyboard, plus a CMI Fairlight.

Ok.@theoldbarmorbidmondays is hosting this epic and magical line up that the Sweatlung has pulled together. It's gonna be great!

Solar Cells, the solo project of Mat Watson (Taipan Tiger Girls / Eternal Music Projects, etc) brings the kosmische vibes.

Atavus Infectum, floating through town from the Blue Mountains, will draw down the mystic synth drone fog and entice you into the void with the mysterious powers of the clawhammer banjo.

The duo Ov Pain dwell in the beautiful realms of the darkness. Drone, experimental, darkwave that seeps under your skin and sinks into your bones.

Come and be drenched by the waves and glow of the electronics for what will be an amazing night at the Old Bar.
