After 10 months of construction, the newly reimagined Shattuck Schoolhouse at Noble and Greenough School is officially open. Originally built in 1922 as Nobles’ primary academic building, Shattuck has long evolved alongside the needs of its community. This latest transformation—executed in partnership with @rawnarch—continues that legacy, shaping a space designed for today’s learners.

The renewed building centers connection, collaboration, and support for students and educators alike. Light-filled classrooms and flexible common areas foster daily interaction, while Gleason Hall now serves as a vibrant hub for gathering, study, and community life.

Key elements of the renovation include:
• A full interior renovation and reconfiguration of the existing academic building, including extensive interior demolition and modernization of systems and spaces while preserving the building’s historic framework
• Sustainability upgrades, including energy-efficient systems, triple-glazed windows, and recycled materials, reinforcing the building’s long-term stewardship

We are pleased to announce that the Brandeis University Phase 1 Residence Hall has achieved Phius Design Certification. In addition to following Passive House Design Standards, this 5-story, 631-bed residence hall is all-electric and utilizes a mass timber structural framing system, setting a new benchmark for sustainability on campus. Construction is expected to be completed in Spring 2027.
