our tenth annual @inquirycollective desert gathering is NINE days away (wtf) !!! curiosity is COMING & the v10 (lol get it?) will be our best yet ✨

chaos mode has ensued in our fav ways & i can’t wait to get back together with this beloved community that will forever carry a special place in my heart.

more cheesy reminders to donate to our glorified renegade coming soon. (don’t worry, we don’t turn you away at the door for lack of funds but everything helps!!)

this is a family affair.
bring your moms. (looking at u @alexkeerd)
bring your friends.
come dance.

DONATE EARLY & hmu for the link if ya didn’t get today’s email

… and last:

😈 LISTEN TO MY SUNRISE SET 2024 💜 on soundcloud.

‘ then catch me on Mother’s Day (Sunday mornin yall),

🙂‍↔️ running it back for another 3-hour dawn adventure 💨

one of my favorite humans ever - an audiophile, incredible sound tech (iykyk: “the year the stacks fell over”), and a loyal & sweet friend i was honored to know and love - recently passed. he left behind a legacy that cannot ever be forgotten & memories of a laugh you could hear from miles away. he was a huge @inquirycollective supporter, our crew would not be where we are today without him. he was a key member of our family.

this weekend, we will be dancing in the dust in front of a big-ass sound system with friends & family for you, kanyon.

see yall in the Mojave 🌙

The art of creating sound from scratch @robotheartfoundation 🔊 This summer’s project: building 11 massive custom subwoofer cabinets for the art car’s new sound system & taking it to Burning Man for the first time.

Here’s captures of our build at @knowaudio for my soundgeek friends & the final result : Le bus on playa 👀

••

Truly one of the most unique & fun experiences (*which, I don’t say lightly as an admittedly jaded art car sound geek+builder). This was a meticulous-yet-beautiful process – a labor of love (surprisingly meditative btw).

I worked on only a few of MANY steps, including:

> placing a shitload of tiny screws *all hand-done* (No power tools.) • via tiny Allen wrench • (~1,000 total: 8 handles on every cabinet. wrists were sore)

> a lot of climbing around 22 ~70lb Danley subs to install soundproofing / gafficking tape on the inner frame

> using a soldering iron to poke holes (~ the size of a dime) thru the tape & holes in each the sub’s frames, in order to

> place said subs into team-built cabinets & screw them in

> plus a massive driver at the bottom & an array of other pieces wired .+ programmed by le gang

> (then more cool shit happened to bring this to life &…)

> we made it to TTITD - to “make the big things go boom” - for the masses.

••

I cannot emphasize how satisfying it was to stand directly in front of this *twice-as-tall-as-me* row of subs in the dust, be able to have a convo & still hear everything clear as day. (audiophile friends iykyk).

Each cabinet weighs ~250 lbs, is ~10 ft tall, and is GLORIOUS to feel/hear/see.

This entire experience w/ our silly, sweet, badass, passionate, real group of humans who just fucking love sound is still unreal to me (how tf did we pull this off!!?).

Thank you to Robot Heart & KA for this adventure,
@thehoneybat @_gabdo @puddwik @quaczar702 Fonda @barrymonigledesigns @dimitris.hytiroglou & everyone from the shop + crew I’m forgetting for being superheros,
@_._vamps @lorynnashley @cactusinsf @lubelski @goodquestionsound for final-hour help,
@shafferj who made sure I’d witness these beasts in the dust,
& Pascal @knowaudio for trusting & welcoming me into this wild world 🖤

Interrupting your doom scrolling to let you know we just released a new episode of Fantasia Music Radio 📻 [FM Radio].

We want to welcome our new guest and long time friend, hailing from San Francisco, California, please give it up for @yotorieee

Torie’s sound is multifaceted – to say the least. Coming from a global upbringing and current home base in the San Francisco Bay Area, she has been curating sonic adventures as a DJ and event producer for a decade. Torie interweaves elements of breakbeats, house, minimal, dark & driving techno, garage, acid, and drum and bass – balancing a line between heavy-hitting basslines and soulful vocals with ear-catching melodies.

She believes in the power of groove and always plays with one core intention in mind: to bring newfound life to the dancefloor.

In 2026, you can find Torie throwing renegades and pop-ups with the Inquiry crew across California in clubs, deserts, undisclosed locations and beyond… as well as performing in SF, SD, Reno, LA and more.

From Torie
“Enjoy this two hour deep/minimal mix I played at Tupperware, Tahoe. It’s one of my favorite recordings I’ve had in awhile”.

Head on over to our bio to find that thang 🔗
Thank you @yotorieee for gracing us with your sound 💕

📍32 • (a late, per usual, note re: getting older.)

tldr: this solar return felt different - evolving - & i am proud to say that ^ HI 👋🏻 ^ — i am alive, back to biz, & •already working towards• making 2026 a pivot to better things.

~ i spent most of 31 hiding from the world & social media, so here’s a dump of core memories i kept close to the heart during that time.

i hid bc I chose to face my deeply-rooted fear of hospitals. February ‘25 was the 1st time i saw a doctor in 5 yrs.

In the last 12 mo, ive had over 30 visits to kaiser, multiple tumors found (benign), a few removed (one was directly under my right eye!!!), many diagnoses, some answers, & non-answer battles with our healthcare system. countless MRI, CT, ultrasound scans.

I might not have a uterus in a few years.

i went from barely walking or standing w/o nightmarish muscle spasms for the first half of 2025 — to finally being able to lift (kinda) heavy things, build shit (sound systems 😈), & be functional (mostly).

it’s been a *marathon* & ive battled with myself for months over how to share this publicly. i do not seek pity -worry -shame. rather, this is an act of transparency; a statement to clearly articulate that i am ~ finally taking care of myself ~ (..for real! I promise!).

when midnight hit on 1.11, i paused & told myself: “celebrate that you are still here.”

the “health shit” isn’t over — it’s progressing, w/ much to go & many unknowns — but life is feeling like life again.

i am excited for what’s to come, finding joy in music again, curating & nurturing community, repairing relationships, being more humble/quiet/respectful, aware of my actions, & loving + supportive of our people. i am working on being T again. i am trying. i will keep trying.

thank u to the OG friends who saw me thru this hell— the hospital rides, caretaking, check-in’s, hugs — you helped me stay sane. i am grateful for the support.

we keep carrying on.

32, bring it on 😈

it’s been a *marathon* & ive battled with myself for months over how to share this publicly. i do not seek pity -worry -shame. rather, this is an act of transparency; a statement to clearly articulate that i am ~ finally taking care of myself ~ (..for real!
