𓁹I'm thrilled to share my new work, "Possibilistic Grounds". I've been thinking of this work for more than two years, and finally, I had a chance to initiate this work on the "Fluid Dynamics" exhibition at @versusartproject curated by @ozgemaz 𓁹
"Possibilistic Grounds," 2021
Multimedia installation, aluminum cast topography, single-channel 4K Video 14:20
For years, we have been trying to understand the world and represent it again with computers' help. With the emergence/involvement of the computer in the sixties that corresponds to the first attempts of digital mapping processes, land census, and calibration systems, the world's first virtual images have been rendered. While the earth becomes an intangible object assembled from satellite images, GIS data, aerial photos, and a globe to spin by clicking on a mouse, the technological tools that make this possible leave actual, physical traces of earth. Sometimes a material change in the world or appear in archaeological sites or dissolves civilizations or protects us, sometimes from magic, sometimes from radioactive rays. Whereas the grounds are melting, our positions are getting lost day by day.
Thank you everyone that helped the project with a great effort; their contribution was amazing. It would not be possible to realize it without their support. I am so happy to know all of you.

“Recession : Circular Symphony” is a multi-media installation that combining narratives, elements, imaginaries are looking for a way. The story based on mythes from prehistoric times to the present. The work also explores how traditional intuition and divination methods can show a direction in order to understand the effects of the human age on pieces of earth, rocks, metals above and below the soil, and the fluids on them. It is about the encounters of the images he recorded with each other in different possibilities. Blending various ancient narratives from prehistoric times to the present, it presents an elegy narrative about all the possibilities of a land that does not exist. There are truths and lies with which stories in a speculative reality relate to one another.

Urban Surveillance Bureau
A Sequence of work in process
By Yelta Köm
Exhibition on view 02.02.22 – 09.02.22
Urban Surveillance Bureau is initiated by Yelta Köm and mimics bureaucratic gestures to offer dissident urban imaginaries through archiving, sharing and counter-mapping. It consisted of an assemblage of different surveillance tools, antennas, screens, and camouflage surfaces. The bureau performs as a mock-up of a governmental info point to ask how it is possible to hide within the system and what we should do to empower dissident movements.
The Bureau makes visible the infrastructures of digital extraction concealed within the topography of the city and reveals how corporations and governmental structures access peoples data. Throughout the transmediale @vorspiel.berlin , the Bureau will show a sequence from its work in process, with drawings, speculations, videos and objects at TOP e.V. | Transdisciplinary Project Space.
This work was partially developed during the Forecast Platform Mentorship Programme in 2020.
Installation Excutive Elif Çak
Project Assistant Serap Kaçmaz
With the support of Forecast Platform, Versus Art Project, A. Mehtap Köm, Özcan Köm
Special thanks Başak Tüsüz, İrem Dilaver, Leyla Ünsal, Mert Ünsal, Mindaugas Gapševičius, Noyan Ayturan,Tuçe Erel

“I’m in a black box; I’ve got a life I’ve lived through a grain of dust. While floating here and there, my digital body sometimes makes me tired; I am about to give up my physical existence. Besides, who needs a body? Am I not what I “seem to be”?

Sometimes landscapes call you back—stories circling, days spent on the roads between, companionships forming across geography.
Other futures need other systems of relation. Collective life means listening, learning together, sharing, solidarity.
This time of year again: longings met, new friendships formed. The winter sun dazzles but doesn’t burn, like everything here. Back on the roads these last days, listening to the stories this land holds.
Thank you so much my dear @araziassembly @brucelee.2084 @zelalgezici @mezraoner @rojineliftokur @ozdemiregit @leylakeskinn

Sometimes landscapes call you back—stories circling, days spent on the roads between, companionships forming across geography.

Letters to the future. I’ve been thinking what it means to understand the future not as something that hasn’t happened yet, but as something that already exists, that’s always been here. Where does time stop, and for whom?
I’ve been sitting with these questions for a while now. And with these objects, they make everything feel uncanny.
And I’m so thankful to Dario for documenting it with these amazing pictures
