Yesterday I got to screen Mycelium at @fahacs followed by a Q&A. It was hosted by the Environmental Humanities research group, Visual Cultures of Ecology.

We had some great discussions about trees, mushrooms, David Lynch and more. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks to @tom_vickeryy for inviting me down.

Behind the scenes at Almscliffe crag in the summer, filming with @eesharsinghmusic

The wind makes it sound less idyllic than it was but we got to watch a beautiful sunset when we finished filming.

Film screening – Mycelium (dir. Jacob Whiting, 2025) with artist Q&A

📅 Wednesday 25 February, 13:30 – 14:30

📍 Student Common Room
School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies
University Road
University of Leeds
Leeds LS2 9JT

Join us for a screening of local filmmaker Jacob Whiting’s recently released short, Mycelium (2025), followed by an artist Q&A.

Jacob Whiting @whiting_visuals is a freelance filmmaker based in Leeds. His work spans music videos, live sessions, poetry films and more.

Mycelium is his first narrative short film, which was created on a micro budget with a crew of two.

In Mycelium (dir. Jacob Whiting, 2025), a researcher's interest in the forest and its underground communication takes him deep into the unknown, but the trees may not be as open as he hopes.

This event is organised by the Environmental Humanities Research Group, Visual Cultures of Ecology, based in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies @universityofleeds

It is free to attend and all are welcome.

* Follow link in our bio to events pages for full info *

Some stills from Little Doll which @delilahsykes and I wrote, filmed and edited in 30 days for a Musicbed competition. We didn’t get anywhere in the competition but it was a great excuse to push ourselves to create something within a tight time frame.

The time pressure allowed us to work instinctively and try some new (and silly) filmmaking techniques.

The film is on YouTube and can be watched via the link in my bio.
