Announcement: Tuesday, June 2, a book launch celebrating abstract artist Cora Cohen’s beautiful new monograph and a panel discussion, hosted by Raphael Rubenstein, with contributions from Sharon Butler, Barbara MacAdam, and Rebecca Ness will take place at the Bowery Poetry Club.
From the 1970s until her death in 2023, Cora Cohen widened the net of gestural abstraction’s possibilities. A highly regarded painter’s painter known for muscular yet poetic works, Cohen also made drawings, photographs, and altered X-rays. This richly illustrated volume details the span of her practice through newly commissioned critical texts and remembrances by fellow artists, making it the definitive publication on Cohen’s work.
Tuesday, June 2, 6-8pm
Bowery Poetry Club
308 Bowery
New York, NY
Free and open to the public
