On Thursday the 4th of June Jazz at Trades is excited to welcome a very special guest, trumpeter Jonathan Bauer!

Jonathan is an internationally recognized trumpeter, educator, composer, and singer from Alberta, Canada. Celebrated for his dark, warm sound and soulful improvisational approach, Bauer divides his time between London, New Orleans, and Canada. As a bandleader, Bauer has released two records under his name, Walk Don’t Runand Sings And Plays, with a new EP and album set for release in 2026. His collaborations are a testament to his versatility and talent. Notably, from his time with the Grammy-Award Winning New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Bauer has performed and/or recorded with a wide range of artists, including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Ellis Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Cyrille Aimee, the Lionel Hampton Big Band, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Renee Neufville, as well as notable pop artists such as Sheila E., Eric Benét, and Ledisi.

Jon will be accompanied by a great rhythm section featuring Nick Manz (piano), Tom Rivière (double bass) and Josh Walker-Martin (drums).
