The moniker of visual artist Sadler Johnson, he creates real time audio reactive visuals that help shape a fully immersive experience.

Artist Spotlight: Lia Mice

We’re pleased to welcome Lia Mice to Tones & Drones on 14 May at @tradese17

Lia is a London-based multidisciplinary artist, performer, and instrument maker. She creates large-scale, self-built instruments from reclaimed materials, bringing them into live audio-visual performances.

She has presented work at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Modern, Institute of Contemporary Arts, and Ars Electronica.

Her instrument Chaos Bells was a finalist in the Guthman Musical Instrument Competition, and she received the Oram Award.

Artist spotlight: Bantu
Bantu is the solo project of London-based interdisciplinary artist @garyroystewart

Gary is part of the research and performance group Dubmorphology, alongside Trevor Mathison, and explores identity and culture through sound, theory, and fiction.

As Bantu, he creates experimental, improvisational performances shaped by frequency, timbre, and rhythm, focusing on how sound is shared in a collective space.

For Tones & Drones, expect evolving textures and atmospheres, drawing on vocal material from Kenyan Maasai traditions, Thembu Xhosa, Burundi chants, and Baka yodelling.
