I am still in complete shock. I won’t write a long soppy message here, you can just listen to my speech. I love community radio. This artform is so misunderstood by so many people in the radio industry and without community radio I wouldn’t have had the space to thrive and create.

Thank you again to Switch Radio, The Community Radio Awards and the Birmingham Alt Music Scene. I told a lot of people about the metal scene in Birmingham last night, this award really is yours.

I went to @slamdunkmusic on my own this year! And this was my day.

I wasn’t supposed to be on my own, but my boyfriend ended up on the filming team, and my bestie got CHICKEN POX a few days before. You can imagine autistic person, I was FREAKING OUT about having to do a big festival like this solo.

This year I decided instead of using the festival to discover new music, that I would go and see all of the bands I’ve been meaning to see for years and hadn’t got round to. Best choice ever, not one of them disappointed me.

Being on my own was a bit isolating, I don’t think I got the full festival vibe, and I didn’t feel like I could drink (not that I wanted to, too bloody hot) a huge part of the festival is getting a bit tipsy and dicking about with your mates, I do think I missed out on that a bit.

HOWEVER, I saw loads of great bands, and I did hang out with @theoryze, mollie and the fam, hung with @pxge_against_the_machine from @stitcheduk for a bit and spotted @aniasks at @gami.gang !! I did also see @keiranmarc for a bit, but he was so busy 😮‍💨

Hopefully I’ll be back next year, hopefully with some friends 🤣🤪
