In 2013, @teeindex and I set out to bring something special to Portland. However, we didn’t realize the magnitude and impact it would have for ourselves and our community. We started this with a passion and devotion for sneakers and wanted the world to know that Portland is special and Oregon is THE sneaker capital of the world. So we carefully, meticulously and thoughtfully curated a space for everyone to feel safe, connected and proud of what our city had to offer.

We did not know how long it would last, but we also knew we didn’t foresee doing this forever. As we’ve grown over the last 12+ years since we opened in 2013, we’ve each started our own family and as our children continue to grow, so have our priorities and goals in life. With this means…

as of Friday, January 30th, we will be closing our brick and mortar in Chinatown and reducing our operations to online only. Let’s not mourn this as a loss, but rather celebrate it as an end of an era. Celebrate the memorable times we’ve had at Index, our epic anniversary parties, the impact we’ve made in our community and the people we’ve met throughout the years, creating connections and friendships that’ll last a lifetime.

To all of our team, past and present, friends, family, and supporters. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We truly would not be where we are without you 🙏💛

Stay tuned for details as we plan on throwing one last epic party, celebrating community that we’ve contributed in building here in Portland.

A message to our consignors: don’t panic, we wanted to give you adequate time to pick up your shoes as well as collect any payments for items sold. Our team will contact you to schedule a timeto sort this out logistically. Our team is small, we still are operating normal business through the end of January, so we want to make a smooth transition as possible for everyone, so patience is helpful. If you have ANY questions please shoot us an email.
