Where to begin? A decade long legacy project has come to an end. My love letter to a home I can’t return to and long for deeply. I feel honoured to have been able to do the work of documenting Sudanese food, and strive for more exploration, documentation and preservation of our mighty Sudan.

This project began with the revolution of 2019 and has pushed through to become a living body of work. We Sudanis are facing a counter revolutionary conflict, one of many in the world right now. Justice will prevail if we stay in solidarity with one another in demanding our rights. The collective struggle is so prevalent today.

I hope you enjoy the cookbook. We tried to make the shipments as affordable as possible, and FYI bulk purchases work out cheaper. Please share with your friends and relatives, especially Sudanis and foodies 😋. Freedom, Peace and Justice for all ✨💙💚💛

South London’s @_atlas_cinema is back up and running and I’ll be hosting two evenings of Sudanese films to raise money for humanitarian aid in Sudan.

My two close friends in Sudan are both requesting financial support for the people in their community. One is in Dongola area in northern Sudan, while the other is in Kosti area in the White Nile region of south central Sudan.

Living conditions are horrific and millions are at a grave risk of starvation. These funds will provide support for community kitchens and basic hygiene products.

We managed to raise a couple thousand a few months back which helped a lot of people taking refuge in various schools. I’d like to repeat the campaign to raise funds for the community kitchens that are keeping people alive at this perilous moment of our history.

Please share this with your community and contribute what you can, suggested £10 - £40 or equivalent. I can keep you posted on how the money is being spent each week as I get updates. For those that can’t afford to contribute, please share and support by keeping Sudan in your community’s consciousness.

Displacement Information Report for Humanitarian Aid Delivery

Date: November 11, 2023

Location: Shelters in the city of Wad Madani, Medani Greater Locality, Al Jazirah State

Report on the humanitarian situation in the shelters:

- There are approximately 494 displaced families in the shelters.
- The displaced families are living in school classrooms, some of them in the schoolyard, under trees, or in tents.
- The families lack basic resources such as food, clean water, and shelter.
- Children in the shelters are suffering from a lack of education and healthcare.
- The area is experiencing an increase in infectious diseases such as malaria and cholera, as well as a shortage of medical supplies.

Recommendations for delivering humanitarian aid:

- Provide food and clean water to the displaced families.
- Establish educational and healthcare centers in the shelters to meet the needs of children and women.
- Provide medical supplies and vaccinations to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Offer psychological and social support to the displaced to help them adapt to the difficult conditions.

This report calls for urgent action to deliver aid to the shelters and improve the humanitarian conditions for the displaced.

Raising funds for a large number of families sheltered together in Manadi, Al Jazirah state.
