In spaces crafted by Melissa Benham of Studio Emblem & Co., "Every element harmonizes form and function while contributing to a larger narrative." It's no surprise, then, that the West Hollywood-based designer, who is featured in the LUXE NEXT Class of 2026, finds inspiration in what she notices is a "resurgence of craft and artisan-driven work." This new appreciation for craft, a new kind of material innovation that honors traditional techniques and the cross-pollination between design and art disciplines all energize Benham, whose practice is deeply commited to both the local community and the unexpected. Learn more about Benham and browse the full LUXE NEXT Class of 2026 at the link in bio.

We’ve been holding onto this one, and now that it’s finally out in the world, we couldn’t be more thrilled. Architectural Digest has featured our Los Feliz Contemporary project, and this milestone feels deeply meaningful. Having @archdigest recognize this work is a dream we’ve held since the earliest days of the studio, and to see it come to fruition with this particular project makes it even more gratifying.

This home marks the official launch of Studio Emblem & Co. and represents everything we envisioned when putting down roots in Los Angeles. Working with longtime clients who trusted us to take risks made it the perfect foundation for this new chapter.

We transformed a disjointed Spanish Revival into a light filled sanctuary that honors California’s architectural heritage while embracing contemporary sensibility. Stripped to the studs, every surface was reimagined in plaster, rooms reorganized into an elegant enfilade, and the home opened to embrace golden light and sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills. The result is a space that’s equal parts gallery and gathering place, as beautiful for everyday living as it is for showcasing art and collectible design.

Thank you to our incredible clients who entrusted us with their vision. Thank you @archdigest @jessnritz and @kristenflanagan for sharing this home that is filled with so much heart.

And, a big thank you to the exceptionally talented team that brought this project to life.

One year in! Studio Emblem & Co. was founded on the belief that good design is rooted in honest materials, thoughtful craft, and deep collaboration. Grateful for the clients who trusted us, the artisans who brought the work to life, and the projects that continue to teach us. Here’s to what comes next.

Tucked within a monolithic, blackened wood volume off the foyer, the powder room of our Winchester House project unfolds as a hidden moment of drama. Eskayel’s painterly Cocos wallpaper draws the eye into a watercolor world of layered palms, anchored by a sculptural Carrara marble sink and warm brass fittings.

In 1973, Ricardo Bofill discovered an abandoned cement factory on the outskirts of Barcelona and recognized a masterpiece. He spent decades transforming the industrial ruin into La Fábrica, a singular home and studio that continues to define the potential of adaptive reuse.

Working alongside his interdisciplinary collective, Taller de Arquitectura, Bofill retained the industrial skeleton while carving out intentional spaces for living and creation. Concrete silos became guest rooms, vast machine halls transformed into drafting studios, and lush gardens eventually softened the stark forms.

La Fábrica remains both a residence and a manifesto. The choice to preserve rather than demolish elevates this industrial site into domestic poetry, serving as a testament to the enduring capacity for architectural transformation.

We designed the living room of our Winchester House project to welcome guests with understated grace. A high contrast palette of pearlescent white plaster and blackened steel creates visual tension, while the fireplace volume serves as a luminous anchor in a room equally poised for gathering and pause.

The breakfast nook of our Los Feliz Contemporary project required a complete rebuild. We reshaped the ceiling with soft curves and opened up the window wall to maximize natural light and views. A custom Waka Waka table anchors the space, paired with sculptural Pierre Frey chairs in deep teal and a curved banquette that follows the room’s new contours.
