The Disc Pendant is handmade in New York using traditional glassblowing techniques. Each shade is formed entirely by hand, and the subtle striations in the glass reveal the process behind its making. The medium size alone requires a team of three gaffers in the hot shop. From start to finish, nine artisans contribute as the piece moves through the glass shop, finishing studio, and our workshop in Brooklyn.
Disc Pendant, Medium in Opaline / Patina Brass
Installed in the dining room at Villa El, designed by Oreste Fasanini, 1976

The Lido Series marks our first collection produced on Murano, where glassmaking has been practiced for over 700 years.
The collection draws on two traditional Murano techniques. One is goti de fornasa, the technique behind our Goto Bianco finish: an informal practice in Murano where glassmakers use leftover glass at the end of a working day. Different colors are gathered together, often without a predetermined outcome, and blown into functional forms. The second, murrine, involves layering and stretching colored glass into canes to create intricate geometric patterns that are revealed as the rods are sliced into cross-sections.
From Murano, the glass travels to our Brooklyn studio, where each piece is assembled to order.
Available now in limited quantities on incommonwith.com and on view at Quarters.

The name Goto Bianco draws on goto de fornasa, a traditional Murano glass technique in which glassmakers would gather remnants and quickly form spontaneous vessels. Colors would swirl, spot, and layer unpredictably. Goto Bianco has soft white tones with subtle variation, retaining a sense of spontaneity in a refined palette.
Edition of 50 per glass finish. Available now on incommonwith.com, and on view at Quarters from May 8.

A continuation of our quest to preserve old-world craft, the Lido Series combines classic Murano glassmaking techniques with a contemporary approach to production. True to its name (lido translates from Italian to “shore”), the series embodies fluidity: order merging with intuition, familiar structures reimagined with time.
