Studio Symoné is for any woman—or really any person, quite frankly—who feels called to this movement of flipping the script. Thank you so much to @why.join for supporting the cultivation of our gathering. The app sparked conversation among us and it’s so funny how we don’t always need “deep” questions to say something profound. We need questions that urge us to connect in casual spaces where we feel comfortable sharing — even if it’s only about what your favorite type of french fry is 😭 Thank you to everyone who came out, and @why.join for supporting this space so distinctly. I’m excited about where Studio Symoné is going, what I’ve been able to accomplish so far, and how Studio Symoné continues to elevate as I transcend and grow. It is truly so humbling I could cry. Special thanks to @withcreators @salvaranga @claudioericka @foorisartofbaking and the women of @tea__at__shiloh for their grace and support. Photos by @ashamone

On the color wheel, magenta is between both red and violet, red and blue.

The power and energy of red is locked up within magenta. The characteristics of blue — trust, dignity, honesty, respect —are in there, too.

That is to say, there is not one “right” magenta. But you know the difference between pink and magenta, or purple and magenta, when you see it. You feel it. Magenta is more mature than any shade of pink. It is provocative. Assertive. And that is a maaaajor difference.

#studiosymone’s primary color is magenta.

LONG CAPTION ALERTTTT WE LOVE TO SEE IT

I know it was, like, two weeks ago, but I’d still like address the highkey elephant in the room: the Met lol

There‘s something about the conversation it ignited that isn’t going anyway, and has already been underway.

Spectacle isn’t substance, and we are heading somewhere new - culturally, astrologically, every which way - that’s going to ask for our full attention in a way celebrity culture was never built to hold. Because while media will have you fooled that everything is squarely about the Met, it’s not really about the Met.

So I’m letting it sharpen the work: using these moments of commercialized relevancy to have the beauty conversations I actually want to be in, with the people I actually want to hear from.

Because where does “relevancy” live? In the creativity, the artistry, the mastery behind what we see on the red carpet and on the stage. It’s that same obsession we end up having for every behind-the-scenes detail of a favorite film, performance, or tour.

And in a world where industry news, brand campaigns, and CEO features run the conversation — if there’s room for that, there’s room for FULL COVERAGE.

So the Met Gala isn’t the thing. It’s the catalyst to get to the thing.

Talking to beauty artists about life, expression, technique, pop culture, and the politics of it all... that’s what I’m inspired by and into. That’s how I keep my core intact. It’s also just so fun.
