So excited to finally share the trailer for my first feature film! Woohoo! @seendocumentary
This project has been my obsession for the past two years, and I’m overjoyed to see it begin its journey out into the world.

First up, a huge shoutout to the incredible@_samjockel producer her passion, enthusiasm, drive and connections in the parenting space made this film a reality. Thank you, Sam!

@annikadamon our amazing editor - We’ve been working together for nearly a decade, and every time, it’s a privilege. Annika brought her incredible talent to this project, and her friendship helped me navigate this tricky topic. This film is a true reflection of our combined strengths, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve made together.

@markdesiatov who created such stunning visuals for this film.
@markbroadbent who filmed gorgeous interviews and @tristanhearstheworld and Alicia Butterworth for perfect sound on our interviews too!
@taghaode123 , our amazing line producer—you turned chaos into calm and made the impossible doable.
Our amazing composer Mark McDuff and the magical @sounds_like_mike who did sound design.
Also @billywychgel for the grade!
Honestly I could not ask for a more delightful and clever team. THANKYOU!

And of course, my deepest gratitude goes to the incredible humans who opened their lives to this story: Terry Downes, @anne_in_plain_sight @zidiascounselling and @joewilliams_tew @phoenixwilliams_@brodiwilliamss - Your courage, honesty, and wisdom have been a guiding light for me—and I hope, for everyone who watches this film.

Also the experts @prof_selena_bartlett @laelstone@drbillygarvey@maggiedentauthor @nathandwallis @dr.vanessalapointe I feel so honoured to have spent some time learning from you all! Thank you!

Also @parenttv is the production company.

This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever made, but it’s also the thing I’m most proud of. 💕

Tickets are on sale now—go grab yours and check out the trailer! I will be at the Sydney screening and the Gold Coast screening too. Tickets on website! Would love to see you there and hear any questions you might have!

Sometimes the hardest part of parenting is realising we’re not always seeing our child clearly, we’re seeing them through our own experiences, fears and expectations.
As Dr. Vanessa Lapointe reminds us, when we pause and shift perspective, we create space to truly understand the child in front of us, not just the behaviour we’re reacting to.
What if curiosity came before judgement? 💛

So much of parenting is about slowing down enough to really see the child in front of us, their temperament, their passions, their struggles, and their unique way of experiencing the world. Connection creates the safety children need to thrive. 🤍

Sometimes childhood doesn’t need more pressure, structure, or performance.
Sometimes it simply needs space.
Space to explore.
To imagine.
To climb, create, move, fail, wonder and grow. 🤍
When children are trusted with freedom, they often surprise us with what they’re capable of becoming.

Sometimes parenting asks us to look inward before we look outward. 🤍
Our children don’t always need what we needed growing up — they need us to see them for who they are.
In a world carrying so much anxiety and overwhelm, connection, reflection, and understanding matter more than ever. @drbillygarvey

Healing ourselves is never just for us.
The work we do to understand our stories, soften our triggers, and grow in self-awareness becomes part of what we pass on to our children.
Every moment of reflection, repair, and growth creates a different future for the generations that follow. 🤍 #Parenting #MaggieDent #ConsciousParenting #SeenTheFilm

The question isn’t whether we’re parenting perfectly.
It’s whether we’re showing up as the kind of human we hope our children become.

Our kids are watching how we repair, rest, love, apologise, cope with stress, and treat ourselves. That’s the legacy that lasts. 🤍

I love this mantra from @zidiascounselling.Remind yourself often: “I love you. I’m here. You matter.” It’s a simple but important way to practice self-love

It’s not always about what’s happening in the moment.
Sometimes our child’s emotions stir something much older in us.
The good news? Awareness is where things begin to shift.
We can learn to stay present with our children… and gently reparent the parts of ourselves that needed more.
This is exactly what Seen the Film invites us to explore. 🤍 @joewilliams_tew
