I had this film in the vault for 2 years lol. Idk, I think I just got caught up with life, honestly. This film wasn't made for festivals, a client, or exposure. It was a very personal film to my experience studying abroad in Hong Kong.

Although I am still really proud of this film. I came to this film from a project where I realized I need to become a better person to be a better director. I will be forever thankful and indebted to the ones who helped make this small idea come to life. I will always cherish the time I had abroad with y'all. You all are the best!

I hope this film may inspire other creatives to post older projects or inspire new ones. This is just the beginning.

Song: Son Lux - This is How I Fight

This was one of the first major projects I switched from Adobe Premiere Pro to DaVinci Resolve Studio. I was able to use an M1 Mac Ultra with 128 GB of RAM, which allowed me to run this project smoothly with 4K raw footage.

I wanted to showcase it, being inspired by Avid's page. It was definitely a long process, as I solely edited the film. I would spend countless hours on calls with editor friends and browse YouTube for guidance. Although it was a learning curve, it really was a great opportunity to get outside my comfort zone and learn more about the post-production side. I researched a lot on SFX, sound mixing, color grading, pacing, etc, which ultimately made me grow as a filmmaker.

I would highly recommend exploring different software, even for content creation and smaller-scale projects. By toying around, you pick up a lot of cool tricks and get faster at the entire process. Inevitably, you will become a better editor.
