The crowds have left and the courtyards are quiet, but the energy of Sikka 2026 stays with us. ✨

Working with @DubaiCulture on the 14th edition of the SIKKA Art & Design Festival wasn’t just a project on a timeline for our team.

Behind the scenes are 500+ creatives who gather together each year as family, fueled by months of experimentation and late- night dialogues. This collective spirit activated 19 houses and nearly 1,000 workshops, making the festival unforgettable for all ages. From vibrant markets to a heartfelt celebration of Hag El Leila, every detail was a labor of love.

To the curators, artists, and our incredible team: thank you for the passion you poured into every corner of the festival. We leave this edition with a deeper appreciation for our city and its creative community. Sikka 2026, it’s been a privilege. 💚

العمل جنباً إلى جنب مع دبي للثقافة على النسخة الرابعة عشرة من مهرجان سكة للفنون والتصميم لم يكن مجرد مشروع بجدول زمني.

خلف الكواليس، هناك أكثر من 500 مبدع يجتمعون كل عام كعائلة واحدة، يجمعهم شغف أشهر من التجارب والحوارات الليلية. هذه الروح الجماعية هي التي أحيت 19 بيتاً وقرابة 1,000 ورشة عمل، مما جعل المهرجان تجربة لا تُنسى لجميع الأعمار. من الأسواق الحيوية إلى الاحتفاء بـ «حق الليلة» بكل ما تحمله من مودة، كان كل تفصيل ثمرة شغف وجهد لا ينقطع.

إلى القيمين الفنيين، والفنانين، وفريقنا الاستثنائي: شكراً على الشغف الذي وضعتموه في كل زاوية من زوايا المهرجان. نختتم هذه النسخة بتقدير أعمق لمدينتنا ولمجتمعنا الإبداعي الذي يميزها. سكة 2026.. سعداء بأننا كنا جزءاً من هذه القصة. 💚

بين أزقة وبيوت حي الشندغة التاريخي، ينطلق مهرجان سكة كمنصة فنية متعددة التخصصات، يغذيها التبادل المعرفي، والتجريب، والتفاعل المجتمعي العميق. بين اللقاءات الفنية الهادئة في البيوت واللحظات العامة على ضفاف خور دبي، يتحول المهرجان إلى مساحة حية تلتقي فيها الحداثة الإبداعية بالتراث الحي. سكة أكثر من مجرد مهرجان؛ هي منصة مستدامة للتعاون والتنمية الثقافية طويلة الأمد.

We are thrilled to be working alongside Dubai Culture, for the 14th edition of the SIKKA Art & Design Festival. 💚
Set across the alleys and courtyards of Al Shindagha Historic District, the festival unfolds as a multidisciplinary platform shaped by exchange, experimentation, and public engagement. From intimate encounters within the houses to collective moments along the Dubai Creek, the festival becomes a living space where contemporary creativity meets living heritage. More than a festival, Sikka is an ongoing platform for collaboration, dialogue, and cultural growth!

- Cruise Terminal 3 Port Rashid, RTA shuttle buses will be available from/to Port Rashid to/from Sikka Gate 3 every 15 minutes.

The past couple of weeks UAE-based creatives were invited to the intensive Interactive Public Art: From Fundamentals to Prototypes program. Offered by @sikkaplatform in collaboration with the Dubai Public Art – Education Programme. The workshop was designed as a strategic capacity-building experience. It equipped participants with essential tools, skills, and methodologies spanning the full arc of interactive public art creation, from ideation and narrative development to spatial design, technology integration, prototyping, and final presentation.

The program aimed to seed long-term skill development in the local creative ecosystem, enabling future independent or collective public art practices. Participants moved from individual-scale interactive art prototypes into a large, interactive public art piece, which is a fully developed, context-specific proposal for an interactive public art installation for SIKKA26 👀

The past couple of weeks UAE-based creatives were invited to the intensive Interactive Public Art: From Fundamentals to Prototypes program. Offered by @sikkaplatform in collaboration with the Dubai Public Art – Education Programme. The workshop was designed as a strategic capacity-building experience. It equipped participants with essential tools, skills, and methodologies spanning the full arc of interactive public art creation, from ideation and narrative development to spatial design, technology integration, prototyping, and final presentation.

The program aimed to seed long-term skill development in the local creative ecosystem, enabling future independent or collective public art practices. Participants moved from individual-scale interactive art prototypes into a large, interactive public art piece, which is a fully developed, context-specific proposal for an interactive public art installation for SIKKA26 👀

Throughout the Curatorial Foundations Program developed by @sikkaplatform & @dubaiculture in collaboration with @nodecenter, participants are discovering key curatorial skills through hands-on workshops and collaborative exercises, including a curatorial concept development, artist selection, exhibition design and planning, and promotion.

Screenprinting Unlocked wrapped up last week with an exhibition showcasing the participants’ process, experimentation and outcomes, where over a 10-day intensive program, they were introduced, in-depth, to the technical and conceptual foundations of screenprinting. A look back at Harakat Sikka, where participants gained hands-on experience across all stages of the animation production pipeline pre-production, production, post-production, and distribution. Creatives from multiple disciplines worked on short experimental animation pieces using a range of techniques.

Their journey culminated in a final presentation and screening of their exciting outcome. We look forward to seeing how each of the rising voices takes the learnings from this program into their future projects! 🌟🎬
