Co-hosted two entirely non-dread upcycling workshops with @delainelebas at @whitworthart a week or so ago. We used my natural inks to draw on paper and fabric, screen printed in the hottest of pinks, took inspiration from Delaineβs wardrobe (including a beloved, falling-to-bits, seen-it-all denim jacket) and generally had a giddy old time. Students from @mcrschart and public participants were all a delight to muck about with in the Whitworthβs garden and studio, with lots of experimentation taking place. Thanks to David Oates Photography for the beaut photos.

Thanks to everyone who swung by my stall at @saltaireinspired today! Lovely to meet you all and chat about prints, wasp placentas and turning overlooked things into beautiful objects. These one-off mini mono prints are all on natural dye, screen-printed paper and reflect the fact that I want to make everything teeny tiny / wee / diddy as all heck.
Really wonderful night at @whatif_stockport where you now can see the textile I designed, hanging as some very luxe curtains, to keep the community warm and cosy. Am not immune to feeling some mum-style pride at the rich, tetrapak prints that now cover the walls, too.
Hanging from the ceiling are textile banners that set out What Ifβs stall - RADICAL REST AND PLAY LIVE HERE - made by the community using curtain offcuts. Itβs a glorious sentiment and testament to the can-do women who run this incredible space.
For the last four months Iβve been working on an incredible community project for @whatif_stockport, doing tetrapak printmaking workshops, textile banner making and surface pattern design. It started off with βWill you print us some new curtains, Wendyβ and then - through some very giddy project creep - ended with me swimming in design ideas drawn from local people and places. I have had an absolute ball and met some wonderful folk, so come and celebrate with us TOMORROW 7-9pm. The building is now warmer, darker and more beautiful, with a series of texty textile banners that make clear what the building is for.
Youβll get to see the enormous curtains I made, which provide a resilient thermal barrier to the building. My print pattern is covered in motifs developed from tetrapak printing plates, with shapes that reference Alexandra Park, Hollywood Park, Castle Street and the What If building (as well as the old bus depot, because I got a bit obsessed with its roof). Tomorrow night weβll be making rope from the old curtains (always useful for rounding up nazis, I feel), having a nice glass of wine and admiring the gorgeous prints and banners made by the community. Everyone is welcome.

Colour, sustainability and vintage style are at the heart of this limited edition collection of sweats and tees π from local artist and printmaker @roby_workshop π.
Inspired by the vibrant and thought-provoking Delaine le Bas exhibition @whitworthart, each garment is truly unique having been sourced from charity shops and vintage wholesalers. Wendy laundered and repaired each item, created hand cut paper stencils and used water based inks to screen print a graphic reinterpretation of a detail from an iconic @delainelebas work from the exhibition onto the garments.
If you are a fan of pre-loved clothing and like to fuse art and fashion in your wardrobe then this collection is for you β¨!
Available in our Gallery shop and online.

I think most brains are quite childish in aspect and mine is no different; every day a school for this 12 year old boy stuck in a 50 year old woman's body who still sniggers at the word 'boff'. In other news I love monotype writing SO MUCH for its ability to capture haste and wrongness - all those wrong-way capitals give me LIFE.
