✨ Riza Printup — Chord47 Featured Artist ✨
Riza Printup is a genre-defying harpist, educator, and cultural force whose work bridges jazz, classical tradition, education, and community building. Equally at home on concert stages and in classrooms, her artistry celebrates the harp as a living, evolving instrument with deep roots and limitless possibilities.
With credits spanning artists like Stevie Wonder, Yo-Yo Ma, Lady Gaga, Paquito D’Rivera, and Christina Aguilera, Riza’s career reflects a rare versatility and depth. Beyond performance, she is a passionate advocate for music education: authoring children’s books, developing jazz curricula used internationally, founding educational initiatives, and serving in leadership roles within the American Harp Society.
Throughout February, we’ll be celebrating Riza’s work, ideas, and impact. Join us on Discord to learn, connect, and explore jazz harp through her lens. 🎶✨

#pajamajam 🎄🤎 Join us for what’s become a favorite annual tradition. We’ll be live via Facebook live 10p EDT / 7p PST (link in bio)
This year we’re highlighting a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts - the Diego and Elnora Veluz Foundation, an effort created to carry on the legacy of our late grandparents.
Grab some hot cocoa or your favorite nite cap and stop by to say “hi”!
Hope to see you there! 😊
Gratitude post …
Deeply honored to have been a part of this incredible project 🙏🏽 It was a behemoth of an undertaking, but the village CAME THROUGH!!
To the incomparable maestro, who I have deep mad respect for as a musician, arranger, visionary and beautiful human being, my brother @iamroblewis, Thank you. Rob’s brilliant and breathtaking writing gives everyone on the bandstand life. The running joke is being able to see the day when I’ll get an actual harp part for his orchestral arrangements. But what that translates into is trust for which I am fully aware of, deeply humbled by and grateful for 🫶🏽 Thank you.
My Sis for LIFE … @julesonstrings. The Queen. The Real Deal. I’ve never met anyone more authentic, humble, hard working, professional, laser focused, soulful, kind, compassionate, protective, driven, brilliant w her axe and pen … but even behind that, there are always 1 million+ fires, projects and asks she has to navigate while making sure YOU feel supported.
Jules is the one who started this all. She and I met nearly 15 years ago on a project she was working on. I remember her asking me how to write for harp because she wanted me to feel .. supported 🥹 I told her what I tell most composers and arrangers I work with, “Write what you’re hearing. Don’t try to make it perfect. I’ll take it from there.” What started out as newbies trying to figure it all out has over the years evolved into a beautiful friendship and sisterhood. It has been a joy watching her grow, blossom and OWN all that she’s doing now. So much love and respect for this incredible human being. Stories for DAZEEEEEEEEEE lol
A few years ago, on another project, the three of us were talking and realized how and when we actually met. Full circle moment. Grand Theft Auto 5 for the New York Film Festival, 15 years ago.
If you get a chance to see “Christmas in Paris”, please do. It’s simply magical. Celebrating 25 years since @xtina ’s first holiday album, the show will also and most definitely give you all the holiday feels.
Yes, the orch is miming, but what you’ll hear behind Christina’s iconic voice is Rob’s beautiful writing, Juliette in the strings and yours truly on harp.
In honor of #filipinoheritagemonth 🇵🇭, I want to lift up four BADASS pinay/pinoy harpists who have been doubling down, blazing trails doing THEIR thing.
• Gracie Sprout @grey_seaa (LA)
• Ariel Schwartz @ari_harp (LA)
• Kari Novilla @harpistkari (Chicago)
• Gabrielle Elyse Oberes Padre @geowav (Bay area)
Coming up I didn’t know any other Filipina/o harpists and always had a sense of disconnect both as a harpist and Filipina. I didn’t pursue nursing/medicine nor an orchestral career. I knew what I loved, but didn’t know where or how my playing would fit in.
Through the years, I’ve been able to grow, embrace and fall deeper in love with my Filipino roots while learning that eventually, as I continue to solidify my own musical voice, the musical connections that were/are meant to be, would eventually find themselves.
My heart is so full now seeing these beautiful and soulful young pinay/pinoy artists making their way. I am so proud of them and the journeys they’ve made and continue to make.
Please check them out and the KILLIN work they’re doing ♥️
