@thisispattismith is coming to Vienna to open Wiener Festwochen, so no better time to dive into her memoir Just Kids together.

Join us on May 23 at our studio so we can share thoughts, impressions, and favorite moments from the book.

It’s also just one day after Smith’s free @wienerfestwochen performance, making it a lovely way to wind down and reflect after a charged night in the city.

We’ll wrap things up by listening to some of Smith’s music, and for the more detail-loving readers among us, we’ll even try to connect a few songs back to moments in the book.

We want to keep our discussion intimate (and our studio is not that big) so please let us know if you’re coming by filling out the form linked in our bio or you can just DM us.

P.S. You don’t have to be a Patti Smith fan or even know any of her songs to enjoy the book. However, we can’t guarantee you’ll leave the discussion unchanged.

For the 30th edition (yes, it’s been that many, we can barely believe it ourselves) we have invited two artists who actively shape their respective local scenes with their sound, work and overall presence:

First up we present @saharatransportservices
Hailing from Macedonia and now based in Slovenia, Sahara Transport Services delivers a heavy blend of bass, breaks, dub and IDM. A familiar face in Ljubljana’s club scene, she is regularly performing in clubs on Metelkova as well as at festivals such as Butik and Grounded. In her two years as a solo artist, she has contributed DJ sets for platforms like the Australian Animalia and the British Black Teeth Radio and Mode Radio. When not energizing dance floors, she’s deeply involved in Ljubljana’s music scene as a music journalist (Radio Študent) and production lead / program associate at @ment_ljubljana

For the second hour we invited @zazitech_
Hailing from Slovakia’s dynamic east, the founder of @eerie.collective and resident at @fuchs2stvaniceseamlessly blends genres, crafting a sound that’s both nostalgic and innovative. She has a musical selection spanning across several genres, but she always comes back to her beloved groove techno. Her beats are relentless and come with a guarantee of a somewhat cathartic yet irresistibly dancy journey.

🚨🚨NEW SHOW: Housing Dance🚨🚨

We kick off our very first movement by inviting @lio.jakob to share their journey, views on dance and a few favourite tracks! Giorio warms things up with a deep and soulful house music DJ set infused with salsa piano riffs and afro-cuban percussion.

Housing Dance serves as a platform for club style dance artists, with focus on reuniting club spaces and studio practices along with reclaiming club culture's solidarity.

More on the artists:

Lio Jakob is an Austrian dance artist from Salzburg, currently based in Vienna. They graduated from Fontys Academy of the Arts (NL) in 2024 with a BA in Dance & Performance. Their practice spans contemporary and House Dance, moving between performance, theatre, and improvisation — as a performer with the Lîla Collective and in solo works — as well as teaching at schools, studios, and festivals. Beyond the stage, they work as a curator and production manager for events including Flavourama Hip Hop & House Dance Festival (Salzburg) and Clubsandwich (Linz), co-organise workshops and sessions with Our House Vienna, and contribute to production for Verein MAD / Mellow Yellow in Vienna.

Giorio is an Algarve native and is based in Vienna. His lifework began after attending a Jeff Mills DJ-set at Locomia Club circa 2000s. He has since been involved in the clubbing scene as DJ, organiser, culture worker, and most recently as a dancer within Vienna’s dance community. He understands DJing as an artform rooted in a history of black and queer resistance. Giorio is committed to antiracism, rejecting and antagonistic against the cult and material history of white violence. He is also critical against the violent norms of cissexism, queerphobia, and the patriarchy. From this principled stance he participates in club culture as a guest, striving to act in alliance. For him DJing is an individual process as well as a collective one, bound in solidarity and reciprocity, together fighting systemic alienation and oppression through our collective joy and revolt.

my monthly Mixshow returns with a fresh, spring-inspired edition titled “I Luv 2 Dance.”

As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, this episode captures that feeling with a selection focused on House music, designed for the dancefloor.

Spring is here. It’s warm. And it’s always time to dance.

Not every morning is the same, and sometimes it only starts at 5:00 in the afternoon.
(Not) Every Morning, But Every Afternoon is a monthly show on Res Radio that provides an hour of experimental space to be filled with Calmness, with Fun, with Quirkyness and Emotion, since October 2024.
It is hosted by the local dj kk4rbon, but as there are different guests invited to join on this show regularly, it is safe to say that (not) every show is the same. From time to time the show focuses on a special topic, so far it has explored international love songs, the sound of sirens and Rauhnächte, dived into basque music and more, often integrating spoken word and field recordings as well.

@kk4rbon is a Vienna based radio host, who came to music via classical music and NDW and is always on the search for sounds that are equally weird and touching. Open to (almost) all genres, her sets focus more on moods than genre-consistency and range from listening & experimental to rnb, trip hop, new wave & electronica.

@sharedfrequencies_ is a project by ooku. and dr. schick, built on years of listening to music and sharing new sounds together. They play everything from soulful, analog sounds like jazz, hip hop and reggae to electronic styles like UK garage, house and drum and bass, and plenty more in between. No rules, just music that moves them. With their radio shows and live sessions they want to bring this connection on air and into shared spaces, inviting others to listen, feel and be part of it.
