Je n’ai jamais su trouver les mots facilement.
Mais aujourd’hui, je sais ce que je ressens.
Quand tu es entré dans ma vie, je n’étais pas prêt. J’avais peur de l’espace, peur de ce que ta présence allait changer. Tu étais parfois brusque, tu mettais la musique trop fort. Et pourtant, c’est aussi comme ça que tu t’es imposé, et que tu as trouvé ta place.
Avec le temps, j’ai appris à te connaître. J’ai découvert un homme passionné, curieux de tout, généreux dans ce qu’il donnait, présent, assumant sa manière d’être.
Tu aimais toutes les musiques. Vraiment toutes. On en a écouté sans limite. Tu faisais partie de cette culture du dancefloor que tu avais découverte à Ibiza, dans les années 80, et que tu as partagée avec moi et mes frères. Tu aimais danser, et tu as même amené notre mère nous écouter.
On parlait de tout. De politique, de sociologie, de culture, du monde et de ses contradictions. Tu avais toujours une information, une histoire, une référence. Tu parlais sept langues, tu sortais de l’Actors Studio de Hollywood, et pourtant tu aimais parler à tout le monde, sans distinction.
Tu as aimé ma mère avec sincérité, et pour cela je te serai toujours reconnaissant. Tu lui as apporté de la lumière, de la compagnie, de la joie. Tu n’as jamais cherché à remplacer qui que ce soit, tu as simplement été là, à ta manière.
Derrière tout cela, il y avait aussi une tristesse, un passé lourd, et ce désir profond de devenir père. Et en le cherchant, tu y es arrivé.
Tu l’es devenu.
Un deuxième père pour moi et pour mes frères.
Tu as marqué chacun de nos amis, un par un. Ta mémoire vivra tant que nous serons là, tant que nos amis le seront aussi. Et quant à moi, je te promets d’honorer ta mémoire jusqu’à la fin de notre ère.
Aujourd’hui, je veux te dire merci.
Merci pour ta présence.
Merci pour le bruit, pour la musique trop forte.
Merci pour ce que tu as transmis.
Merci d’avoir offert à ma mère une deuxième belle vie.
