✨ A Language Born in the Moment 🫏
There’s something about this record that feels alive in a way you can’t really explain. @ashkarae doesn’t compose in the traditional sense, they react, they listen, they move together. Shardet Leghzaleh sits somewhere between jazz, rock, and Middle Eastern folk, but honestly, labels don’t do much here. It’s more about energy, that deep, almost physical groove rooted in tarab, constantly pushed forward by the pulse of dabké. The electric bouzouk cuts through like a voice, the bass keeps you grounded, and the drums… they don’t just keep time, they pull you in.
The title track “Shardet Leghzaleh” feels like something you’re chasing without ever catching. It builds, stretches, shifts direction when you least expect it and somehow that’s exactly what makes it so addictive. You start listening, and before you know it, you’re not analyzing anymore, you’re just inside it. It reminds me of those moments in live sessions where everything locks in for a few seconds and you know it won’t happen the same way again. No lyrics, no clear message, just a feeling that mirrors a world that’s a bit unstable, a bit chaotic, but still very much alive. And maybe that’s the point: not to understand it, but to let it move through you. 🌪️🎶
