as part of Weld’s 20 years jubilee Necessity of Space Festival 🪅
we spent a month in the small town of Fujiyoshida, at the foot of Mount Fuji, where we worked with listening and recording as ways of getting to know a place. Sound - field recordings - became tones and traces of movement, something to respond to with body & voice. We’ve brought these practices to Stockholm, Odenplan, where we explore how one can be with a place through resonance and dissonance, as both acoustic and relational states. The work enters the city’s hidden sonic spaces ~ signals that call, warn, and connect

While exploring the specific timbre and force, the sounds invoke a variety of textures and gestalts. “Spiritus” is a play with this as the work taps into the word’s meanings and derivations: breathing, mood, geist as well as alcohol and intoxication.

We kicked off season #3 of our [8:tension] Podcast and this week we welcome Lisen Pousette and Olivia Rivière!
The makers of the performance DUNKEL talked about the time when they met in choir school and how singing is their natural habitat. How they moved on from soprano and alto to heavy metal and growling and about their ongoing fascination with the deconstruction of the voice.
DUNKEL by Lisen Pousette and Olivia Rivière is one of the 11 works, which got invited to the [8:tension] Young Choreographers’ Series 2025 at @impulstanz_festival . Along with this invitation comes the opportunity to spend up to two weeks of residency in Vienna, co-funded by Life Long Burning.

Kafé Mix is a series of performance evenings at höjden studios in Östberga.
