Going to the gallery was a ritual me and my mother shared. It was a place of worship, wonder and inquiry.

At 14 years old, the hospital became a familiar place as my mothers cancer progressed into its 4th stage over the following decades.

it’s been just over 2 months since I was diagnosed with graves. seems somehow fitting that the thyroid gland looks like a butterfly cause I feel like the mushy nothing that a caterpillar becomes before it’s next evolution of self.

grateful to the angels in my life who have brought me meals, accompanied me to appointments, sent flowers and flew outttt to be here with me on this journey

it made me think about how mental illness is used to control people…how it puts the burden on individualsto deal with their problems and not structures of silence and oppression. western diagnosis can be reclaimed and helpful and it still carries a history of abuse.

the growling in DUNKEL is a primal expression that evokes hysteria, a term used to police bodies, labeling their truth as madness.

there is a wisdom in the madness and a reclamation of agency among the powers that be.

the body is a channel to express truths that live in the body, that words fail to convey and that society has buried under diagnoses and judgment.

this performance challenges the structures that perpetuate silence and denial by creating an oasis for inner and outer hauntings to sing, dance and play together.

Alongside Switch (meditations on crying) + Poetics to Activate the Technology of the Body.

PLEASE WEAR A MASK 💗 my mum will be there and has 4th stage cancer. A lot of other sick and immunocompromised loved ones will be there as well. It’s so important to me that this work is accessible to the sick and dying. We have so much to learn from each other.
