Today, we’re #DroppingBy the brand-new Pooky (@pookylightsus) showroom at the New York Design Center (@nydc), where Chief Marketing Officer Jodie and President of Pooky US Regan introduce us to the British lighting brand’s first permanent space in the States.

Five years ago, Ellen entered our Shades of Brilliance competition as a design student. Her combination of traditional hand block technique with a vibrant contemporary style blew the judges away, and her winning Poppies design has since become a firm favourite among Pooky customers.

Today, we’re launching our third collection together, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Meet our latest collaboration with Ellen Merchant: a reimagining of her signature fabric and wallpaper prints, translated into light. Think playful botanical silhouettes, an English countryside palette, and that unmistakable ability she has to make colour feel like a feeling.

Cornflower blues. Canola yellows. Soft, earthy tones that ground it all beautifully.

Everick and Lisa used our Talullah rechargeable pendants in their @hwdesignonadime booth to add a touch of fun and femininity. We are so happy that the Tallulah, created in collaboration with @thenovogratz, found a home at this year’s DOAD.

How do you start a lighting company with absolutely no knowledge of lighting?

So many Pooky products spotted in @apartment48’s Design on a Dime vignette. Rayman Boozer’s space was inspired by the renowned photographer Peter Beard, known for his work depicting Kenya’s landscape and wildlife.

From Boozer’s favorite Pooky lampshades, to our hanging woven pendants and Bellamy Candle Sconce created in collaboration with @thenovogratz, we were so lucky to play such a large role in this incredible vignette.
