🌐🌐 Moth Ball is the new video by London experimental / spoken word duo BAG 🌐🌐

The new single combines visceral poetry and exploratory sound in a skewed, mesmerising dreamscape.

“A caustic stream of jagged sound... DeSchutter’s spoken word skims like a thrown stone.” - The Wire

Following the release of lead single “Floor Phlegm Hue” last month, our most recent signees, London-based experimental spoken word and electronics duo BAG (aka Jody DeSchutter and Daniel Allison), are back with another new track taken from their upcoming album.

“Moth Ball” is steeped in disorienting sound design, as if drifting in from a delirious room next door. Its poetry arrives spliced and stuttered, never settling and always in motion. BAG draws from the outer edges of avant performance and the ecstatic spoken word of New York’s fertile early experimental scene, à la Laurie Anderson. As vocalist DeSchutter pushes into the rolling, roaring coda, traces of earlier morphemes re-emerge, skittering in crescendo through a haze of woozy string synthesis.

🌐 Vessel Diaspora is the third and final single with video by London experimental / spoken word act BAG 🌐

The track features dreamy piano from collaborator and live member @angeledavidguillou

“The video investigates oscillations between membranes: skin, fabric, costume, basin and wall;
containers simultaneously holding and being held, letting things in and others out.
Consuming, releasing, washing, folding: making and being made.”

Edited by Matt Deary with artistic direction from Liz Gorman, the ‘house’ footage was shot
at Peckham Safehouse, offering a striking visual counterpart to the album’s porous, timeless
house/body motif.

“This track and video form the conceptual bedrock of the album as a whole. The tidal force moves everything into place as it resounds: ‘my body is a house / or my house is a body / which way around it doesn’t matter,’” the duo add.
