🌸⛓️SOFT MECHANICS: Difference, Repetition, Life
1–5 April 2026
Opening: Wed 1 April, 6–8pm
103 Murray Grove, London N1 7QP
Featured artists:
@daebiemos @yasemingunhos @yilina.yang, @ee.choin , @stamenov.s.g @qiangqiangzhizhi @eveleigh_evans @gabriela.cygan @m.h.toscano @abluefurboot___
Taking pulse, breath, vibration, and repetition as its starting point, SOFT MECHANICS explores the body as a site of rhythm, sensation, and response. Here, repetition is never exact: each return carries variation, pressure, and difference. Across the exhibition, bodies become receivers and transmitters — tuning into signals, resisting noise, and navigating the intensities of a world that moves ever faster.

🔀ENTER TO THE EXIT
Artist: 1989 + 333 Land
Curator: Daniel Aguayo Mozó
Venue: Galería CIMA X SPECIFIC, Santiago. Chile
Text: Daniel Aguayo Mozó
Photography Credits: Felipe Ugalde
Exhibition dates: March 18th - May 30th, 2026
Enter to the Exit, a solo exhibition by Fabiola Morcillo presented by Galería CIMA and SPECIFIC, is conceived as a transdisciplinary system that critically examines the relationships between identity, technology, and subjectivity in contemporary culture. Designed as an operative simulation, the exhibition transforms the artwork into an active interface in which the viewer becomes a user, participating in an environment that enacts realities.
Structured around two states—1989 and 333 Land—the exhibition articulates a trajectory between the technical and the symbolic, proposing identity as a dynamic configuration in constant transformation. Through a hybrid language that combines digital media and organic materials, the project unfolds as an experiential system in which concepts such as progress, territory, and skill are redefined according to the logic of digital systems.
Organized as an interaction protocol, the exhibition places the viewer within a network of activation and recognition, where the mirror operates as an interface and access itself is framed as a critical act. In this context, Enter to the Exit offers a complex reflection on the construction of identity in the age of the hyperimage, proposing an immersive experience that challenges the boundaries between artwork, system, and consciousness.

For PAI_32’s Artist of the Month, we speak with London-based artist-researcher Danying Yu @soupofthedan , whose practice moves between sculpture, installation, fieldwork, and socially engaged research.
Yu reflects on informal housing, urban villages, found materials, and the quiet intelligence of everyday structures — from ropes, shelves, hooks, and temporary repairs to the ways people make unstable spaces liveable.
In the interview, she discusses growing up in Shanghai, working across China and Mexico City, and how sculpture can learn from acts of adaptation, resilience, and making-do.

🕸️Time Weaver, 2026
Oil, acrylic, pigment and dye on canvas with lotus silk, Alcea, synthetic silk and reflective fabric 145 × 90 cm
57 1/8 × 35 3/8 in
Danish artist Kristian Touborg (b. 1987, based in Copenhagen) disorients perception, emotion, and memory through vivid brushwork interwoven with collage, textiles, reflective surfaces, and industrially treated materials. His compositions drift between image and object, intimacy and artifice, representation and hallucination. Nature, in his work, is composed and mediated through light, reflection, and layered color, evoking water, plant life, bodily traces, and digital distortion, while unsettling the viewer within states of softness and rupture, beauty and anxiety. In Time Weaver (2026), Touborg extends beyond the limits of the canvas, framed in driftwood, to render strands of dew caught in a spider’s web within a garden in bloom. Time appears only obliquely, suggested through the vivid flowers that dissolve into the ambiguity of bushes
—or perhaps a skeletal silhouette-ascending toward the sunlit halo at the center of the painting. The sense of space is further entangled with the translucent ground of the canvas, which exposes the structure behind the image itself. Touborg creates paintings and hybrid objects that register the instability of perception while holding onto beauty, fragility, and the persistence of feeling, where dread and desire remain in delicate coexistence.

“Cabin Temperature” is a new series of glass works engaging with my artist book Air Conditioned Hours. The book brings together photographs taken from my perspective as a transcontinental traveler, accompanied by texts written by me with Guilherme, drawn from diary entries, conversations, and observations.
Together, they reflect on temporality, transience, and displacement, recurring threads in my practice.

The book brings together photographs taken from my perspective as a transcontinental traveler, accompanied by texts written by me with Guilherme, drawn from diary entries, conversations, and observations.
Together, they reflect on temporality, transience, and displacement, recurring threads in my practice.
